Couldn't follow the plot of this book if you paid me lads. Which was disappointing because it had funny narration and characterisation.

This is 100% for fans of Jeff Vandermeer, although for me it was a little bit better. I wish there had been more octopus content and perhaps a better ending, but it was really cool and interesting

Quietly compelling - it didn't immediately strike me or grab me but I very quickly found that I couldn't put it down. Beautiful writing and beautiful people. Emotionally hard in a lot of places.
