I don't really feel like this book made the point it wanted to, and was mostly just upsetting content.

The first time I've read a book in a whole day in ages! Cute and adorable and also extremely good post -apocalyptic content.

I thought there were some odd moments with pacing that disengaged me sometimes, but the world's build were so good, and I have honestly never been more terrified of in-book villains in my life. And I'm so fond of Lila.

Like...don't get me wrong this book was absolutely HORRIBLE and I was not PREPARED for that. But I guess also if I *had* been prepared it would have made more sense??? But literally nothing could have prepared me. It was a bit art-wanky.

Absolutely devestating and hopeful and beautiful. I read this as an ebook but I'm going to buy a physical copy as soon as human possibly, and then consume anything else she's ever written.

It's always good reading an SJM book, like returning to a comfortable friend, but this one wasn't particularly good?? Like it didn't absorb me like the others did? Reeeeeally odd pacing mostly threw me off
