It was highly unlikely I wasn’t going to enjoy a graphic novel about a samurai rabbit. In fact, I enjoyed this very much – particularly for all the details of the samurai era. I learned things as well as being entertained. Great stories, great characters, great art. Would have been cool to read one of the stories in colour…

That ended up being quite different to what I was expecting but I enjoyed it throughout nonetheless. The ending was maybe a bit rushed? Or maybe it’s just that I wanted to finish the last 10% in one sitting. I’ll be reading the second book soon to find out what happens next.

Considering I enjoyed the first book so much, this was a bit disappointing. It was fine but nothing special and doesn’t make me keen to read book three – I’ve bought it already so I will at some point.

Ooh so dark. Not sure I’ve read a book for a long time where I’m really not sure I like the main character – I don’t think you are supposed to here though. At least, you’re definitely supposed to be conflicted. Very enjoyable throughout, either way.

The stories and images in this book are as old as I am but the oppression of Palestinians has been going on for so much longer. I knew this before reading this book but I don’t think I really fully comprehended it all. Just like I can’t get my head around why it’s still happening. Whether you are interested in ‘politics’ or history or usually just read superhero comics, read this book. Educate yourself.

More people do now seem to be aware about what’s happening in Palestine – it only took thousands and thousands of innocent Palestinians to be killed to get noticed – but it’s the people in power that need to do something about it. So the least you can do is write to them. Demand action. Share information. Make your voice known. Speak out for those that are unable to do so themselves.

Free Palestine. End the genocide. Ceasefire now.

I love it when a book goes places I didn’t expect. Twists and turns a’plenty. I loved Jovis and Mephi instantly and grew to love Lin over the course of the book too. Really, really enjoyed this and I’m going to buy the next book as soon as I finish writing this review. Need more!

Enjoyed returning to this world and these characters. Would have preferred another full book rather than short stories but I’ll take what I can get!

I’ve read a lot of Asian and/or Japanese inspired fantasy books, most of them are better than this. The ideas behind the story weren’t bad but the delivery of it all didn’t really grip me. Not sure I’ll bother continuing the series.

The first manga I’ve ever read. LOVED IT. I’ve got the next three volumes lined up to continue the story.
