This book took me longer than expected to get through, but I loved all of it. I need more cozy reads in my life, especially now, so I'd recommend this to anyone else who needs one.

I loved the magical realism of this family trauma. Which sounds dark, but you need to be able to process and experience the stories that affect your family, but that they won't tell you.

Celeste Ng manages to write characters that I hate, pity and get frustrated with. They all feel too real, but in a good way.

So much better than Iron Flame. You can tell there was a lot more time out into writing this one, and it was quite the whirlwind.

And that ending?? 🥦

This was cute. A lot of plot points were predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Plus, all the different narrators and perspectives worked pretty well together.

This was a random pick on Libby but it was absolutely amazing. Especially now, when so much sucks, it was both amazing and awful to read a book where you go "oh yeah, we've been warning this will happen in dystopian literature for decades ... And yet."

This book was so good and so cozy!  Nothing fancy as far as writing goes, but the characters are fun and very sweet. Definitely recommend as an escape.

Found this book on Libby because I wanted something to listen to while needlepointing and couldn't put it down. I also just kept thinking of all the implications of a new administration on the choices individuals are allowed to make around a pregnancy.

Apparently I'm in my memoir era. Love Bechdel and the illustration style.

It's dark but funny, and a good escape.

I liked the complex narrative structure and back and forth timeline. It felt so true to when you experience something that throws you back into another memory. And really makes you reflect on how we treat celebrities and their experiences...
