I liked the complex narrative structure and back and forth timeline. It felt so true to when you experience something that throws you back into another memory. And really makes you reflect on how we treat celebrities and their experiences...

Ann Patchett is such a wonderful writer. I love the back and forth between timelines, and the unreliability of the narrator feels so true to life. But this also has a lot of "poor little rich kid" elements, and the narrator is kind of an asshole.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 12%.
The book is fine, but it's definitely something I'm just going to skim. I can't really count this as a full read.

What a time to read this book. Right on the eve of a new administration, reflecting on the weird balance of awareness, overwhelm and social norms. Not to mention the weirdness between generations.

So interesting to read, and also just ... Poor Britney! It feels like I gained a whole different perspective on pop music from my childhood

This was an interesting reflection on how we process things in an oversaturated world. I liked it a lot more than her podcast, and think I would have enjoyed it as a physical book to encourage more time for reflection.

I enjoyed this on audiobook more than I remember. Enjoying it the first time around. But Xaiden  and violet are still really annoying and childish, and Xaisens. "Ask me questions" stuff is really annoying.

This book was ultimately fine. I didn't love it or hate it, but I also think I would have been fed up with some of the characters very early on if I was reading a physical copy instead of listening to an audio book.

A lot of it felt predictable, but not on a bad way. Just ... Fine.

Of course I had to get a reread in before onyx storm came about. The graphic audio production was pretty weird, but worth the free listen on Libby.

A book of reflection to end the year. This was a reminder to see the beauty all around us and to be thankful when some of our memories hit us and demand to be reflected on, rather than shrugged off.
