I enjoyed the first trilogy, but I found this book a bit of a slog. Most of it is buildup to the last few pages, which sets up the next installment.
A solid conclusion to the series, and I'm pleased to hear that the author is working on more Murderbot adventures.
An entertaining show-biz memoir. If you're not in the industry, you don't necessarily think about all the work that goes in to getting a movie made; Meyer goes into just enough detail to keep it interesting without going too far "inside baseball." I enjoyed learning about his writing process, especially in the context of some of the best Star Trek movies.
I've enjoyed all of Fonda Lee's books, and I think this might be her best one. The fight scenes are tense and exciting, and the story takes elements of the traditional "fight story" narrative and gives it a futuristic twist. And yes, I'd love to watch (and try!) zeroboxing.
Interesting concept for a plague novel; the story starts off strong, drags a bit in the middle, but the last third of the book is action-packed. A promising debut!
This is a thrill ride of a book! Lots of action and plot-twisting revelations. I was a little concerned that the second book might suffer from the "middle book syndrome," biding time between the beginning and end of a trilogy, but this was very much not the case. Very much looking forward to the last book.
Very enjoyable! I love that Irene is so capable and quick-thinking and always manages to rescue her companions. So pleased to hear that there will be more books, because I love this series.
Somewhat of a letdown after a very enjoyable first book, but it picked up in the last third of the book.
Two households, both alike in dignity/In fair Miyagi where we lay our scene...
These volleyball kids are something else indeed!

Very enjoyable sequel to The Collapsing Empire. There's lots of intrigue, some exploration and big discoveries. Looking forward to the next book!
