A very entertaining mystery, with lots of romantic tension between the two leads.

A very enjoyable sequel, this time it's murder at a country house. More sparks fly between Lady Julia and Nicholas Brisbane, and the mystery has several good twists.

A lovely story about marriage, divorce, being gay in Japan vs. Canada, coming out, homophobia, sibling relationships, and kids.

Nationals! Miya twins! Foot saves! Cliffhanger!

Clever and very readable. A very entertaining mystery!

Apparently this is based on a real event, which I hadn't heard about, but I thought this was fun and entertaining. I liked that it included both the fan's perspective and the showrunner's/actor's perspective (discussion of how various scenes are received and what the actors were really thinking about during filming), plus the fake fanfics were a lot of fun.

I'm a sucker for an interesting take on the Arthur legend, and this was a very fun take on the Arthur legend. Ari is the 42nd reincarnation of King Arthur, and Merlin is determined to get it right this time, not least because he's now aged down to a teenager (that aging backwards curse is taking its toll, to comedic effect). I liked Arthur in space, the twists on the story, and the LGBTQ inclusivity. I didn't realize it was book 1 of a series, so they tie up the main conflict, but immediately head off to another one, to be continued in book 2, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, it was quite enjoyable.

An entertaining set of horror stories concerning food and chefs, with bonus recipes from the much-missed Anthony Bourdain.

Enjoyable and suspenseful - the most evocative scenes are the descriptions of cooking and scoring heroin in Harlem.

I picked up this book because the author has worked in the same field as me, but I was soon delighted and entranced. I was a music kid, though not as much as the author or the characters, so the scenes with the musicians and the orchestra were so familiar to me (so glad my piano teacher wasn't like the one in the book, though). Anyway, I loved this book.
