An exciting and emotionally satisfying conclusion to the series. What a ride!

What a lovely conclusion to the story! We learn more about Mike and Ryoji's life together, Yaichi becomes more accepting of Mike and deals with his regrets, and Kana is still the best. The story also deals with homophobia, living a closeted life in Japan, and hope for greater openness for the younger generation. Gentle, but deep and very emotional.

The end of the series wraps up a bunch of loose ends and provides a satisfying conclusion for our characters. Very enjoyable and bittersweet.

What a delightful book! I really enjoyed the romance, and the supporting characters were just as much fun (I'd read side stories about all of them).

A different take on the time travel novel.

An enjoyable combination of YA romance, family history, and comic book history. If you know anything about the tangled history of comic book creators and their lawsuits, it takes on extra meaning.

Started out delightfully snarky, but got somewhat bogged down in the descriptions of the reality show.

Jade City was amazing; Jade War takes everything from the first book and ramps up the stakes. The No Peak Clan is dealing with much more than just a clan war; they face threats from other nations and their battles. I loved the descriptions of the fight scenes - I could really visualize what's going on, and I still love the concept of using jade to enhance one's physical powers. There is a lot going on here and the author even throws a plot wrench into the last chapter - I can't wait to find out how it all ends!

I will admit that I only bought this book because it's by F.C. Yee (go read The Epic Crush of Genie Lo, it's so good!), but I still enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed learning about another Avatar and her training and backstory; it had humor and pathos, and it sets up nicely for a sequel. And, most importantly, it has sky bison!

A cute romance that starts out as a fake date. I liked the interracial romance, the details about Alexa's job and her backstory with her sister. The complications felt a bit manufactured - the book was fun but not completely satisfying. That said, when I found out that there was a sequel, I immediately put it on hold at the library.
