I'd give this 3.5 stars - it wasn't as good as The Goblin Emperor, but this book certainly reminded me of it. I liked that the main character uses science to solve the mystery and to keep the throne.

What a ride! A group of candidates compete to see who has "the right stuff" to go into space on a mysterious mission. Cassie Gupta is determined to win; we meet her and other candidates as they go through training. I would've been interested in hearing the stories of what was going on behind the scenes, especially considering the ending. Looking forward to the next book!

Fast-moving, exciting undercover spy novel set in the early 1700s - a nice change from the usual Regency/Victorian setting. I devoured it and am off to find the sequel.

The series wraps up nicely, lots of action. There will be more adventures in this universe, and I'm curious to see where she takes these characters.

This book plays with your expectations and then subverts them, in a good way. Very suspenseful. I always enjoy it when this author breaks out of her usual series; her standalones are always worth reading.

Interesting concept, lots of action and some fun twists. I was a bit surprised that the resistance wasn't using tactics we have seen in current insurgencies, but overall an entertaining read. Looking forward to the sequel!

The graphic novel format and the framing for the first book (Rep. Lewis telling his story to two children) really draws you in. I loved reading about John Lewis' childhood (preaching to the chickens!) and about his early experiences with SNCC.

Once again, the graphic novel format brings the story to life and makes it accessible to a wide variety of audiences, including people who might never go see a movie or read a book about this subject. I'm also glad that they included the original text of Rep. Lewis' speech for the March on Washington.

Inspiration for any age - after all he's done and all that's happened to him, John Lewis is only 25 by the end of these books. We've come far, but there is so much we need to do.

The main character is such a jerk for so long that it killed my enjoyment of the book. Interesting concept, poor execution.
