Intriguing take on the Cold War spy genre.
Though this is the end of the trilogy, I hope we see more of Isobel in the future. I really enjoyed the world that the author has created.
I liked Exo a lot, and Cross Fire is also quite good. It's got action, plot twists, and good character development. Very enjoyable!
Very enjoyable sequel to the first book. Lots of political intrigue and interesting new Variants, and the Variants from the first book are more comfortable in their powers. Looking forward to the next book!
Another murder, and Enid is investigating with a new partner, Teeg. Though the plot is a little predictable, the universe is quite interesting and it's a very enjoyable read. I hope we'll be getting more stories in this series soon!
Pleasant enough to read, but I'm afraid Russell and Holmes are getting a bit stale for me. I wish Ms. King could turn her talents to other stories.
Annoying protagonist, contrived plot. I read the first quarter and then (figureatively) threw it across the room; I was curious enough about the story to read the ending and a few chapters in between. So disappointing.
This was an amazing book - there's so much going on. It's the sort of book you finish and then want to read again so you can pick up on the clues that you may have missed the first time around. I also loved that it was such a different world from the usual North American/Euro-centric science fiction. I can't even remember why I picked it up, but I'm so glad I did.
I read Jane Eyre so many times when I was a teen, and have also read quite a few books on the Brontes (both fiction and non-fiction). This was so much fun, both for the different version of the story, for Charlotte as a main character, and for the various snarky insights from the narrator. Simply delightful!
This was a fun read and I'm glad I read it after the second book is out, because I'm looking forward to it. I did get a bit eye-rolly that Sage was able to make so many amazing military insights, and Quinn failed to consider some alternate theories heading into the final battle, but overall, quite enjoyable.
