Title: Echoes
Author: Dylan Page
Series: The Bleeding Hearts Book 5
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

The Bleeding Hearts Series has always had such a special place in my heart ever since I read Torment 1 and 2. Now that Dylan Page finally published Echoes (it was totally worth the wait), it's the perfect beautiful ending to this heart-wrenching, intense, emotional rollercoaster of a series.

Since Echoes is about Shay and Mina's son, Hayden, it feels like the perfect way to honor Shay and Mina. Seeing Hayden and Maddy being haunted by their past was heart-wrenching. It's amazing how much they were able to lean on and love each other while helping one another heal from their trauma. Seeing how Hayden was heavily influenced by events that took place and as well as Keenan and Mina, Shay and James, seeing the man he became was beautiful. I loved that we got to see two sides of him: loving and protective Hayden and the broken and dark Hayden.

Great advice from James to Hayden:
"You don't want to be the one who hurts the people they love. But don't let others hurt you. It's your life. Yours. Stand up for yourself. There's no shame in that."

"Defend yourself against those who would hurt you. Cherish those you love."
-Grandpa J

Echoes is about finding redemption, forgiveness, healing, and in the ending, finding closure. This book was such a beautiful ending to such a good series. I cried, I laughed, I grieved, and I celebrated everything about this story and its characters. I don't think Dylan Page could have written a better, more powerful book to end on. The Bleeding Hearts series will always be one of my top series and I will always recommend it to anyone who loves some darkness and some beauty with raw and gritty emotions that takes you on a rollercoaster of  some highs and some lows. Echoes will break your heart into a million pieces only to turn around and put it all back together again!

Title: Carnage
Author: Shantel Tessier
Series: L.O.R.D.S #5
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

The first book I ever read by Shantel Tessier was The Ritual, and from that moment on, I've been obsessed with her writing, the characters, just this whole series. I've been looking forward to reading Carnage since I read about the spade brothers. And of course, Shantel Tessier DID NOT disappoint with this 5 star read.

I love that Carnage, like the other books, was filled with mystery. Carnage is riddled with questions, unclear motives, secret agendas by multiple people, some of them unknown, and of course, it's got plenty of villians. I love how each book can be tied together in some way with whether it's the same characters in the same universe, the timeline, or just something that happened in one book but affected others in another book. I couldn't get enough of the darkness in Carnage. It’s raw and gritty, I love it and couldn't help but want more. Shantel is a fantastic smut author! You could forget about the hot and spicy moments in this book, whew 🥵🥵!! I really did enjoy the scenes between Ashytn and Saint, not to mention when Saint let Haiyden and Kashton play, too. The way Saint and Ashytn's owned their toxicity with their selves and with one another was just HOT! I love Saint's depravity. I love Saints' obsession with Ashytn. Yes, he loves her, but he's also obsessed with her to the point it's slightly toxic, but of course, that makes it even hotter!

I also really loved Haidyen and Kashton, the other Spade brothers, in this book. Haiyden and Kashton, though scary and maybe a little crazy, they're both sexy AF, bad@$$, and killers, but they both care about soft spot for Ashytn, especially Haiyden.

I really don't think I have one bad thing to say about this book, though I do wish some things would have been a little more fleshed out with better explanations, but I still loved the book. I CAN'T wait for the next Spade brother book. Shantel Tessier has become an autoread author for me with this series. If you haven't read the L.O.R.D.S series, then I highly recommend Carnage and the rest of the L.O.R.D.S series; they're all 5 star reads!

Title: The Nettle and the Nightmare: A Queer Vampire Sleeping Beauty retelling
Series: Bound by Blood
Author: Alora Black
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Smut: 🌶🌶

Nettle and the Nightmare is a queer vampire sleeping beauty retelling in the Bound by Blood series. Nettle and the Nightmare is just one of the standalone spicy vampire novellas set to come out throughout our spooky season. When I saw that Alora Black was doing a FFM vampire sleeping beauty retelling, I just had to read it since I grew up on all the classic fairy tales as a kid. This is the first book I've read by Alora Black, but it won't be the last.

Princess Brenlyn (Nettle) has been raised to become a vampire slayer in hopes of seeking revenge on succubus Misstress said to have put a curse on her people and her kingdom. So as she sets off on her journey to hunt down the succubus, she slays any vampire she comes into contact with. Once she comes into Succubus Mistress, Nettle realizes that everything she has been told might just be all a lie. As confused as Nettle is, she can't help that she's starting to feel something for her captors. So with the help of Mistress and her captain, Nettle must figure out the truth if she's to stop the person who's behind the curse and other horrible acts against humans, vampires and fae.

I really enjoyed this why choose Sleeping Beauty retelling. I was captivated by world-building and characters. I enjoyed the spicy FFM scenes. I thought the author wrote quite a unique retelling that had me binge reading from start to finish. This fast paced novella had action, mystery, betrayal, love, revenge, fated mates, and a lot of sexy spice. I think anyone who's looking for a fresh retelling should definitely give Nettle and the Nightmare a go. I look forward to reading the rest of the stanadlones in the Bound by Blood series.

Title: TATE
Author: BJ Alpha
Series: Storm Enterprises Book 2
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Smut: 🌶🌶🌶

I really enjoy every book that BJ Alpha writes. Each book  has an amazing storyline with a great plot, and great characters that are easy to like and TATE was no different.

Tate follows Ava and Tate's romantic journey. Tate first meets Ava on her 18th birthday at a party his mother was throwing. As soon as they saw each other, they each felt a connection for one another but Tate was a bachelor and wasn't ready for anything more thank one night stands. Ava just wanted to experience being with someone, so for Ava and Tate end up spending that weekend being together. Once Tate finds out her age, he refuses to let it become anything more. Fast forward 4 years and Ava is interning at Tates company when they bump into each other in a meeting. As soon as Tate sees her, his feelings slam into him and he realizes that he'll do whatever it takes to keep her.

I loved this book for several reasons: the love that Ava and Tate have for one another, their connection, the spice between Tate and Ava was WOW, but most of all I love that Tate is willing to go over and beyond for Ava. While this was a beautiful romance story, it's also got a lot of dark topics and things that take place. This story is beautiful, sad, raw, intense but is also filled with hope and love. I can't brag enough about this book or how amazing BJ's writing is. She's a talented author. If you haven't read any of her books, I implore you to do so! I can't wait to read the next book in the Storm Enterprises series.

Title: Carousel of Souls (Book 2)
Author: Penn Cassidy
Series: Carnival of Bones Duet
Rating: ☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶

When I first stumbled upon Carnival of Bones a few months ago, I became completely captivated by Moria and how she ended up at a random Carnival in the middle of nowhere without any explanation. So of course I had to read Carousel of Souls to finish Moira's story.

Moira ends up at the Carnival of Bones one night in a white dress covered in blood and no memory of what happened before she awoke in the middle of nowhere. She meets Theodore and Bael who work together to run the Carnival. Moira ends up having to choose whether to stay with Theo and Bael or go back home. She must decide what life she wants and who she wants to spend it with because once she makes that decision, it can't be undone!!!

I absolutely love this story and the characters within it. Theodore and Bael are so mysterious and sexy. I love that they feel so strongly for Moira and want to protect her. There's something about Moira that has brought these two men to their knees and they want nothing more than to love her for the rest of their lives. Now the spice in this duet between Moira and the guys are so hot. I think this duet has a little something in it for everyone; murder, voodoo, death, life, love, and hope. I think this is probably one of my top Penn Cassidy series I've read.

Title: Daddys Addiction
Author: BJ Alpha
Series: Mafia Daddies #1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

If you like:
• Age gap
• Mistaken identity
• Forbidden romance
• Dominant/submissive play
• Blood play
• Extremely spicy (check all trigger warnings ⚠️ )
• Most of all TABOO

I could not get enough of this taboo dark romance. Tommy is every women's wet dream with his possessive personality and dirty mouth.

Tommy Marino is the family's "screw-up". He spends all his time with escorts and struggles with an addiction problem. His life turns upside down when forced to babysit his deceased ex-wife's daughter, Jade by his father.

This dark forbidden romance is HOT!!! I'm not usually into "daddy/daughter" romp but I couldn't get enough of Tommy and Jade together after mistaken identity brings them together sexually.  BJ Alpha is a smut genius and my new favorite mafia romance author. The spicy scenes are so intense and lustfull. I was so into this book, I finished it in four hours. I could not put it down. This is by far one of the dirtest, sexy, intense book I've ever read. Be prepared, when you finish this book, you will need a cold shower!  I can't wait to see what BJ has in store for us with the rest of this series. This book is 10/10.

Every book Lola Malone writes I end up loving and Crown of Disguise is no different. Crown of Disguise is my 3rd MM I've ever read and I'm extremely happy to have received this arc for an honest review. Lola Malone is me hell of a writer and I've found that no matter what she writes, I end up loving it.

Dominique consumed by grief, decides that he can't live with not knowing what really happened to Damien. He must do all he can to find out the truth for his family which causes him to attend the very school where his brother died to finally get some answers.

While Dominique isn't sure he's even into men he can't deny the way he feels when he meets Gaël. There's something about Gaël that captivates Dominique. Gaël decides to teach Dominique  all the stuff he loves when he see Dominique is a natural submissive.

" You are my mine now, I told you. So those lips—" My finger brushes past his wet bottom lip, and his disappear back inside his mouth immediately, "are mine now."

I can not get over Dominique and Gaël together. Gaël with his fierce possessiveness and desire to take care of Dominique made me love Gaël. Gaël and Dominique together is plain sexy. This story and its characters are all consuming. I love the way the author made the characters feel so real and complex. I can't wait to see what the read the rest of this series. I know that whatever Lola Malone writes, it will be amazing. Thank you @lolamalone for letting me read another one of your books!!

Title: Her Soul to Take
Author: Harley Laroux
Series: Souls Trilogy #1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Smut: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

I'm having a Harley Laroux marathon. I swear I thought her dark romance was perfection but her monster smut romance is even better!! I started this series because 1. I'm obsessed with Harley Laroux's books and 2. Because I got an arc copy of Soul of a Witch. So of course I had to read this series in order and BAM, I found another series I'm obsessed with by HL, go figure!!

Her Soul to Take is about Leon, the demon and Raelynn the human who ends up summoning Leon by chance. Leon has killed every single human that has summoned him besides his enemy, Kent Hadliegh and now Raelynn. Kent is protected from Leon but Raelynn fascinates Leon so he decides he wants to know more about her.

Come to find our Raelynn is being hunted by monsters, a God and the Hadleighs because she's suppose to be a sacrifice. Leon doesn't understand the need he has to want to sacrifice life and limb to protect this human female but only that he must save her.

As he's trying to help protect her and keep her alive, he starts feeling emotions for Rae that he hasn't felt in hundreds of years. Rae has the hots for Leon. He scares her as much as he excites her. She is a sucker for pain and fear and Leon gives her everything she wants and needs plus more. He wants her soul but she doesn't want to give it to him. Will she give her soul to Leon in order to survive everyone that's hunting her or will she be sacrificed for the God?

This book is so good. The smut is top notch!! I love paranormal romance books especially demon romance and Harley kills it. I love her attention to detail and the spicy scenes between the Demon and Rae. I also loved their banter and their cat and mouse games. I cannot recommend this book/series enough. Harley laroux is a smut queen!!! I don't care whether you like dark romance or paranormal romance, this romance is HOT!!!!!! I'd give it 10/10 stars if that was a rating!!! 😂😂

Title: Soul of a Witch
Author: Harley Laroux
Series: Souls Trilogy #3
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Smut: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

I LOVED The Souls Trilogy! Harley Laroux is hands down one of my favorite monster romance authors after reading this series. I didn't realize until I had finished book one of The Souls Trilogy that each of these books are standalones but they are all interconnected in the same world. Each book follows a different couple throught a similar timeline.

Soul of a Witch is the third and final book about a Witch, Everly and a reaper Callum. Everly born into a cult who's father is the very leader and her mother the witch who is helping her father try and bring back a God who wants to rule over earth and humanity. Everly must use her magic to stand against her father, the Libri (the members of the cult), and the God itself. Everly can't do this alone and when a brutal murder occurs, it leads Everly to a mysterious house full of magic and an ancient, powerful demon, Callum. Callum has been searching for the witch that haunted his dreams, Everly and he will do whatever it takes to make her his.

I loved this series so much. Each book has a different female and a demon who helps her. I couldn't give over Everly and Callum's relationship. The spice in this book was just as amazing as the rest of the series. I can't begin to express how amazing Harley's monster smut is. She's one of my all time favorite demon smut authors now after reading this series. I can't recommend Soul of a Witch enough or The Soul's Trilogy enough to all my monster romance and dark romance lovers. This series is amazing!!! I love all of Harley Laroux's books. Her dark romance is 10/10, but her monster dark romance writing and smut is 100/100!!! I want a demon myself after this trilogy!!!

Title: The Seldom Wings
Author: Beka Westrup
Series: Winged Spirits book 1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

I was captivated by Beka Westrup's story telling from beginning to end. This dark fantasy, The Seldom Wings was such a fascinating and intense story.

Sia, our morally grey heroine was such a badass. She's exactly the type of FMC you would want in this type of fantasy. She's a knife wielding, hand to hand fighter who doesn't back to down from evil. She doesn't take crap from anyone especially men and she's unapologetical in her love for humanity. Her willingness to put herself last just to protect the ones she loves makes her a true heroine. I also enjoyed seeing every side of Sia and the internal struggle she deals with throughout the book.

Sia runs from home and away from her controlling father who wants to force her hand in marriage for the alliance it will give him and their kingdom. Sia only wants her freedom and to find out who her mother was and what she is. But while she's searching the city her mother is from, body's start piling up. So Sia starts trying to figure out who this serial killer is before it's too late and the people she holds most dear to her end up getting hurt.

A creepy fog filled town that can kill anyone who dares take too deep a breath. Promises that if broken will kill. A love triangle. Seraphim in the sky, monsters that lurk in the deep, and a gnashing forest filled with all kinds of unknown. Sea serpents, elves, sutilis... these creatures are made from nightmares. The suspense and mystery in this book are top notch. Every time I thought I had everyone figured out, I realized I was wrong.

This book has a little something for everyone in it. I don't think there is one thing I didn't like about this story or the authors writing. Tropes included: Enemies to lovers, found family, morally grey heroine, slow burn, hidden identities, and love triangle. I also love the pansexual representation in this book. I highly recommend this book to all my dark fantasy lovers. Book 2 can't come soon enough. If you haven't read anything by Beka Westrup yet, give The Seldom Wings a go!!
