one of the worst books I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading in my entire life. the fact that I even finished it is merely a testament to my indomitable spirit not to be mistaken for enjoyment of the content

oh my DAYS I’m kicking myself for not finishing this sooner!!! this was a witty, charming, hilarious delight and the banter was everything you could hope for in a romance novel. Cannot wait to check out the rest of talia’s work

I’d rank it second overall in the series (not including the novellas because I haven’t read those.) the first book is still my favorite but this one comes close

so dreadfully boring. I don’t even feel like getting into why I didn’t like it because it drained me so badly.

going in blind with no knowledge of the characters in relation to their stories is best. it took a minute to get the ball rolling for me but once it did I was enthralled. though I hated Elektra I was still entertained by her. Clytemnestra mother of the year idgaf. Cassandra I’m sorry for the fate you suffered. Wonderful book overall will be reading Ariadne soon

I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

Carley Fortune just solidified her title as the queen of second chance romance with MMATL. If Every Summer After didn’t convince you, this will. I fell in love instantly with Will and Fern, even Maggie and Peter in the background. Love and Loss are hard topics to marry in romance novels but I think she did a phenomenal job of bringing these two together despite what life threw at them.

It’s hard to top yourself when you hit the ground running with a debut novel like Every Summer After but trust me, Meet Me At The Lake lives up to the hype and keeps the ball rolling with confident strides.

Carley if you’re reading this I happily and eagerly (though not very patiently if I’m being honest) await your next book.

this is genuinely one of the worst books I’ve ever read. It was way too long first of all and that’s because it was insanely wordy. I mean there were pages and pages of text with no dialogue to break it up. Just endless stream of consciousness from the pov of whichever character which would be fine if the characters weren’t so annoying and dated. They all sound the same I genuinely didn’t get a different voice from them while I was reading because all you can glean from the text is that it was written by two corny ass white women no shade. When you finally do get dialogue you’re wishing you never begged for it cause of how bad it is. I thought this book was written in 2012 (especially from the awful cover) so imagine my surprise when a Taylor swift song from 2019 was mentioned in the book. Rogue’s character was so flat. There was nothing special about her except that someone tried to kill her (which is milked the whole book) and once upon a time four guys were all obsessed with her for whatever reason. Oh and she has pastel rainbow hair. They don’t let you forget that. And don’t even get me started on Fox. Genuinely so annoying!!! I rolled my eyes anytime I had to read about him being all possessive like dude go away. JJ was the only one I liked. Maverick was okay and chase I could take or leave. Either way I will not be continuing the series and if you’re reading this don’t even start it.
