I liked this book a lot. The second was slow, but the third was fascinating in the sense that most dystopian stories end when the dystopia collapses. This one doesn't. Going into this series I was worried because many readers had complained about the unnecessary love triangle. I am not a huge fan of love triangles. In my opinion however, this is not a love triangle in the hunger games sort of way. From the beginning it is relatively clear, that Xander will not be the final choice. In fact, Cassias Choice is made at the end of book two and communicated in the middle of book three. Cassia barely even thinks about the two choices, her "choice" is more about whether to be independent of the society or to take the "safe" choice and trust them. Also there's no infuriating flip-flopping. Cassia simply hasn't learned the difference between platonic and romantic love. She doesn't want to hurt her friend and struggles to make the selfish, in her world unconventional choice. So if you were worried about that, I urge you to give it a try anyway.
