"Your blindness now doesn't wipe out all your years of refusing to see"

What an absolutely beautiful story of finding home when you're not sure what counts and doing what you can to reconcile things you regret. A beautiful reminder to keep in touch with the people you love!

Aimee's husband is just such a star. The way he supports her unconditionally in some of the hardest times of her life and goes above and beyond instead of doing the bare minimum.

The ways Aimee realized how westernized she had become but still let herself enjoy them if they mattered to her really spoke to me. It's not very easy to be multicultural, especially when you might love something from this "new" culture but it clashes with what you or your parents have been raised with. As someone with a parent from South Asia but born and raised in Europe, these are 100% things I experience.

I will definitely carry this story in my heart with incredible warmth. There are so many lessons to learn and everything was written so beautifully.

Re-read review:

This story hit just as hard the second time as it did the first.

I'm in love with the writing and characters. Aimee is still very relatable to me with feeling disconnected from her roots and realizing her memories of specific moments are very different from what the others in those memories remember.

I recognize myself in Aimee's struggle of going back years later, to find out how much that place has changed. Things always stay the same in your head until you're reminded that life goes on even if you're not present.

I love how Aimee rediscovers her connections to her past and makes them a bigger part of her life and identity again. I also adore her husband for learning and working on it with her.

As a story, on its own, exciting and thrilling. But as I'm not able to overlook the fact the author has called it a retelling without even reading the original story it is meant to portray, unfortunately I can not rate this better than 2,5 stars.

I'm personally not a fan of time jumps too much and the way flashbacks to memories or stories told were written, I got confused many times when we jumped from an orally told story to a memory instead.

I'm not very knowledgeable in greek mythology, so I'm not able to give an opinion on how accurate those parts of the story are.

I was happy to see Leto gather herself in the end, it frustrated me how flaky she was with going through with things she seemed to be so incredibly set on. But that's also just.. humanity.

Honestly Mathias might have been my favorite character in all this. He truly wanted the best and tried to do all he knew to be able to. I love and hate his ending, I just want him to have everything good in the world!

This is a heavy read for all the grief and especially the pain women go through (of course girls are the ones cursed and at the mercy of men, as it has gone throughout so much of history).

The ending was predictable, but in my opinion it was in a nice way and didn't ruin the book for me. Some things still felt left unanswered in the end, but at least most of it was a somewhat satisfying ending.

So in short: As a story, it's a great one with such grief and also some joy sprinkled in. In context of it supposedly being a retelling, ehhhh... It's a heavy read when you wish so much better for women in general.

I really liked the romances, but there were so many things that frustrated me within them. I understand Melantho's grief over her past lovers, but babygirl, you are allowed to love again. They are gone, taken from you, it's not like you're cheating.
Leto on the other hand... how easily do you forget Melantho as soon as you set your eyes (and lips) on the prince?

I had the honor or receiving an ARC of this novella and I really enjoyed it.

I'm personally not a fan of time jumps too much and sometimes the dialogue just didn't work for me, but those only docked off half a star. Otherwise I enjoyed the story so much and barely could put it down for a little break!

I love Amalie and Hawk's snarky comments to each other and Hawk's employees and their relationships are so great!

This story isn't for readers that don't care for some spice or violence, the vampires really don't keep things neat and polite :D

This one got me hooked! I bought the whole series as soon as I finished this. Sometimes Sookie can really get on my nerves but in a good way, can't be too perfect 👀.

So many surprises and honestly loved the romance in this, what a mess Sookie gets into.

I couldn't get into the story right now, but I'm trying again later! I think I'll like it when I can focus on it better.

It took me a while to get into the story, but it was still worth it for me.

It's a bit of a tough read with all the violence towards children and minors, but I also understand how it added to the plot and is meant to show the horrors of war and how awful the kaiser and the invaders are.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns, they didn't feel too far fetched and were honestly believable. A lot of the things that surprised Theo were things I can believe everyone around her sheltering her from.

I was so lucky to get an ARC and I loved the story! Perfect for getting me out of a reading slump!

Vampires, steamy love and mystery? Absolute win for me. I'm in love with Kallan, he's such a simp. I really liked the mystery part and I was so happy to have guessed what was going on behind the scenes!

This story isn't for readers that don't care for extra spice.

I just couldn't keep up with jumping back and forth in time and 3 different somewhat comnected stories in the middle of one story. Maybe another time!

This was one of my favorite reads so far this year, I honestly loved Olive and Ethan's joke filled bickering! One of my favorite things is calling each other funny names and they sure delivered on that front.

I enjoyed seeing Olive grow so much but still stay herself, just a better version.

I knew right away that seafood at a wedding would be such a bad idea. And goodness gracious Olive being so oblivious to how Ethan felt, I was so frustrated in the best way just waiting for her to realize how wrong she was!
Good riddance with Dane, I'm so glad Olive was proven right and Ethan's grand gesture really warmed my heart so much.
