What.. what just happened? I… what??????

J Bree loves making a mess of me. But this book was amazing! The progress Oli has made, her growth is huge. You can tell she was always a fighter but just hiding it cause, hello, she LOVES AND WANTS TO PROTECT EVERYONE. The guys are… right now, after everything that has happened, my list goes like this: Atlas, Gryphon, Gabe, North and then Nox. They each have their own magic and place in my heart, and obviously Oli’s, but I sense there’s so much more there. We’ve been focusing so much on Oli that I need more backstories to the guys to understand so many things.

Once again, great writing. The characters really show growth in this second book and continually grow on you. They are diverse and loveable, a bit complex but I love it. THANK GOD THERE WAS FINALLY THAT SPICE I WAS WAITING FOR. HELLO ANGST AND BANTER, YOU GUYS ARE MY FRIENDS.

I feel like I got into this blind. Well, I kinda did cause I knew it was a Reverse Harem but I didn't know it was also a slow-burn romance. So I'm here. Eye twitching because of all the sexual tension. Like whyyyyyyyy? And then when something happens it's ripped away. Fuck me.

Oli isn't your typical FMC. People think she's a brat, selfish, and likes to run away. But she's actually this girl that had something terrible happen to her and wants to keep everyone safe. And no one seems to believe her. You guys have no idea how I've struggled with that but given that I'm a bit of a masochist, I've also loved that. I like the angst, the tension, the power struggle between her and her guys. I swear if it isn't worth it in the end I might just die but I'm here for it.

There's something about J's writing that always grabs my attention. I couldn't make myself stop reading. I was so deep in the story, the characters, everything that I didn't notice I was finishing the book. It's absolutely incredible. An original story, truly. Great writing as always, diverse characters (loveable too, maybe not all of them but you get the idea).

4.5 stars!!!

I'm already reading book 2, so yeah.

To the person who recommended this book: why?

Yes, the book has that “small town girl leaves to New York to find herself” vibe (cause literally it’s that). But what else is there? Poppy has no spark, no personality, nothing I can say “that’s her”. We’re introduced to her as this outgoing, energetic and so all kind of girl but I never actually saw it. Alex is an introvert, quiet and a family guy… that’s about it. The characters had the potential to be great and they just fall so flat to me. Nothing really spoke to me or had me interested in finishing the book. There were some parts where I was smiling or laughing but it’s not enough. It’s a friends to lovers trope… again, with all the potential to be great but isn’t.

Between the first and second book in the Never After series… I really prefer this one. Tristan is DARK AND DANGEROUS and I’m obviously here for it. He’s the reason we love dominant, possessive and grumpy alphaholes. The way he adores Sara🥴🥴🥴 I’m here for it. Definitely gonna do a reread at some point.

Why did no one tell me this books was so cute and hot?

I mean, seriously, it’s just the perfect amount of cute and has the right kind of sexy. Piper is how we all see party girls and for her to go to a small town like Westport… Hannah Montana the movie people but older, obviously. And then we have Brendan… my God I’ve never wanted a bearded fisherman like I do right now. Hard-worker, honest and true to himself, swooning over him. But what really captivated me was the mouth on him. Sweet Lord that man KNOWS how to dirty talk and I absolutely loved it.

The writing is really good, the story and plot go hand in hand here. Fast-paced and easy to read. I see it as a fun read for the weekend. Definitely 4 stars and 2.5 spice (for me).

I liked this, but again, I think it wasn’t necessary. It’s a cute book, cute being we still have these intense and graphic sex scenes but, it’s just fluff.

I swear I would’ve given it more but the miscommunication had me wanting to hit something. Very hard. Repeatedly.

I really do love Tatum and Jameson but God why this far into their relationship, did there need to be that huge miscommunication? The not trusting? Not talking? So frustrating. I get it’s part of the story and everything but still. It was a good book, I really enjoyed it (except those moments I just said) and the spice, yes please to everything.

It's still the writing that makes me not give it 5 stars, but wow. What a rollercoaster of emotions it was...

I get Tatum, I really do. Sometimes the tough act can only get you so far and even then, you'll still see those consequences. But, we do love to see a tough guy grovel. It's a nice sequel. Darker, intense and so yummily smutty.

Jameson and his ways... yum.

Where to start? Someone recommended this series to me and wow, thank you.

You have to understand that when someone writes dark romance and something like this, is has to be completely done right. And the author did just that this time.

Even though the writing sometimes IS a bit childish but it’s entertaining, easy to read and so intriguing. Tatum is how everyone starts out in this life, innocent and naive. Then we have Jameson who is just that guy that maybe, breaks you and teaches you what you really want in sex.

Total honesty? This book is smut but with a story so cute and delicious that it’s a great read. The sex scenes are intense, yummy and so REAL.

Do I recommend it? Completely. Spice is about a 3.
