It’s okay in my opinion, but I wouldn’t recommend. I felt this dragged on from the middle to the end, which was a bummer because the beginning had me HOOKED... I Didn’t think the book needed to be 64 chapters, a good 40 chapters would’ve done the trick. I’ll give the author two stars because I didn’t see the end coming, and was convinced it was sheriff Steven who did it. Bob felt almost too obvious. Felt like some plots weren’t wrapped up. Ended up hating the FMC Sarah. But for sure will pick up the sequel bc I’m nosy and hope Sarah gets her karma.
2 stars, only because I can’t give 2.5. This book isn’t good, but not bad. HERE’S WHY:
the spice spiced!!! but the k!nk wasn’t what I expected, along with fellow readers. when we hear k!nk from society, we expect to be more rough or dirty. this isn’t too R-rated which it’s perfect because they’re supposed college-aged students exploring for the first time. It’s a little spicer than fifty shades ( no pun intended (IYKYK)), but it’s not outrageous, bearable. I wanted to love this because of the trope of same sport plus the ways of competing, and the edits across social media pulled me in. I was left feeling that I wouldn’t recommend this book/and or go out of your way to. I kept seeing reviews as you either love or hate Alli’s books. For now, I agree with that as I’m 0/2, but maybe it’s the stem trope and it may not be my things because it almost feels like too much information with college, classes, tests, labs etc.. I thought this book could’ve been better with a DUAL POV, because him falling first, I was obsessed. character wise, the main MMC & FMC, I loved. Everyone else, they can go away. I liked Pen at the start, but grew not to. Maryam was annoying and rude, and was a Karen the whole time. Love the epilogue though.

This book is dark, I wouldn’t have picked it up if there was more context on the back, maybe if the word captive was mentioned. It’s not for the light hearted. Due to the subject of the material I wouldn’t say it’s good or bad, just a lot to take it. Not sure I’d recommend. the ending of her going back to her old behaviors, I understand there’s triggers but at least there could’ve been some information of Sally calling her therapist or someone for help. don’t get me started on every other characters since they are just more harmful than Sally is, expect Sally wasn’t even intentional she was in fight mode for survival.
Yes, no, maybe? No, not my favorite. Was hard to keep my attention, and very close to a DNF. No need for there to be 51 chapters, plus two epilogues. Where’s the spice? This book is the slowest burn, and you’ll lose interest. Wouldn’t recommend.
this may be my favorite book of the year! he falls first, can’t trust anyone FMC. the slow but for sure steamy build up and burn. romantic suspense and a good ending. short & sweet chapters. I highly recommend! I loved every minute of this book!
Such a cute book. I loved the dual pov, and of course fake dating had a good ending. the pace was great and I read this in two days. It was spicy but not too spicy, but had me kicking my feet and blushing for them. I’d recommend!
Not the best, not the worst, just not my favorite. I wouldn’t recommend/ go out of your way to buy this one. The ending I was surprised a little bit, but almost felt random and the book came together in the last two chapters.
Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. It was okay. A whodunnit, but I didn’t expect it to be who it was. I did enjoy the easiness to read & the quick chapters.
I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. I was very frustrated by the fmc, she felt very whiny to me-both now & then (IYKYK). I didn’t love that the whole book literally wrapped up in the last 3 chapters. I wouldn’t recommend. (also no chapter numbers- just now & then- not my type of writing style)
