This was a lovely queer joy historical. Dual POV 3rd person, just one narrator. A few explicit scenes. Plenty of diversity in terms of queer rep, not really any cultural/ethnic diversity. It did have a modern/progressive point of view regarding archaeology, patriarchy, and supremacy.

📚 Mid. It was fine but didn't particularly draw me in. The b plot was also kind of wtf/what was the point of that. And I'm neither gay nor a man, but it didn't feel like the author had a great grasp on writing gay men realistically when compared to other books I've read.

🎧 Dual first person POV, two narrators. One of the MCs is very soft, and the VA they chose has a voice that reflects that, but that voice bugged me for whatever reason.

🌶️ 3.5/5 There were a handful of explicit scenes but they were fairly tame by my scale.

🏳️‍🌈✊ Both MCs are gay, and one of their best friends is bi. There wasn't any racial, ethnic, or cultural diversity of note.

IDK, I have a hard time rating non romance books. This one has a mystery that I didn't guess so that was good? No spice. No diversity. Single character first person POV.

📚 I love this series and it continues to deliver. The central love story was engaging and the side stories were of course welcome updates on the crew of the Palace.

🎧 Justine Eyre always brings it.

🌶️ 3/5 Pretty straightforward/vanilla scenes within a few explicit encounters.

🏳️‍🌈✊ Diversity in class/circumstances of birth, but nothing culturally/racially diverse, and nothing queer.

📚 This was a fun quick read with a fair amount of tension between the MCs.

🎧 Dual POV, 1st person, two narrators. Both actors did a good job.

🌶️ 3/5 Only a few explicit scenes but they were very well written.

🏳️‍🌈✊ No diversity of note.

This was a good one. The characters were interesting and the story worked.

🎧 Single first person POV (hers), single female narrator. Well done.

🌶️ 3.75/5 Vanilla but explicit scenes (multiple) with a focus on her.

🏳️‍🌈✊ Both MCs are ethnically/culturally diverse (she's Atlanta moneyed Black, he's Indian British). I don't think there was any diversity in sexuality in the characters but the overall vibe was accepting of queer people/not assuming everyone is straight.

Good not great? But worlds better than book 1.

📚 This was fine? I appreciated the diversity and the eldest daughter rep but the book didn't grab me.

🎧 Dual POV, two narrators. I personally don't care for the female narrator, there's something about her voice I don't like. The male narrator was really good.

🌶️ 2.5/5 Only a couple explicit scenes and they were pretty tame.

🏳️‍🌈✊ The MMC is Black and neurodivergent. The FMC is fat. The side characters are diverse as well--there are POC and queer characters.

Cliched and poorly written. Not very entertaining. Extremely annoying FMC.
