I love how all of the characters were writers... there was irony in that they all thought their way of writing was best, but in the end the novelist who prides herself on invention and not just "writing what she knows" ends up using her fiction as a way to enhance her own life and give herself the courage to explore things she otherwise wouldn't have. No spoilers, I swear, but the book ends on a really interesting "full circle" moment and I love it when books do that.
Again it took me a while to get through but I still love these last few books.
Pretty much as good as I remember it. The last time I read this book was six years ago.
Okay yes I blew this one out in one afternoon. But it's always been one of my favorites with a library hidden inside a hotel... so many good ideas come together here and I love that so many arbitrary characters from the orphans' lives are back in action and we still don't know exactly whose side they're on. We're not even sure there are sides anymore... the only thing frustrating about this book is how many mysteries are left to be untangled. Nothing comes to light in this book; in fact, everything only gets murkier.
Wow this actually made sense. Not spectacular but a great way to tie everything together and it still had the trademarked creepiness of the first 7 books.
Just realized that I got my PLL books confused... the review for Reckless is my review for this one. I'm actually mad at Reckless because of the cliffhanger and the fact that I still don't know what's going on.
I CANNOT BELIEVE the 8-10 month jump between the book before this one and this one. I was really hoping these characters would actually remain friends after everything but now they're right back where they started. Ugh.
Entertaining, but I didn't like that the book was told from the point of view of the editor, so that all the facts were reported with the editor's witticisms and cheesy lines. Really cool facts in here though.
Took me a while to get through... it was slower to me than the other two. But it finished with the best courtroom scene I've ever read so that's cool.
