I loved this book. However it is a 4 star review for me because as much as I personally adored it, it didn’t quite hit the mark for reasons I cannot pin point to be a 5 star read I’d recommend to every person I meet.

The prose is wonderfully done and it certainly read differently to what I expected.

*spoiler* I was expecting to read each twins experience each alternating chapter, instead each part of the book explored a different point of view. *end of spoiler*

It explored so many themes and topics I didn’t expect with some characters but I felt it was still beautifully done in that regard. I’d definitely reread this and loved that the book never quite went where I expected.

The lives of the Vignes twins is not one that anyone expects and sometimes… that’s okay. Not everyone is who we think they are.

If you’re looking for your standard light rom-com novel - look no further than here. With some mild twists and turns this book will leave you happy with the happy ever after. If you’re looking for some realistic diversity - I’d try again. This is more Bridget Jones’ diary than Queenie.
