Me topé con un autor magnífico como storyteller, aunque en este libro, se destaca haciéndolo con muchas historias ajenas a la principal. Aunque quedé fascinado con la forma en que narra los sucesos e interacciones, no logré engancharme a ningún personaje del todo.
Sentí que no hubo personaje principal, sino muchos secundarios. De la misma forma, percibí lo mismo de las problemáticas que deseaba hacernos reflexionar o estar conscientes de ello.
Me llevé un sabor agridulce porque intenté con todo lo que pude que me gustara mucho, pero quedé a medias.

I came across a magnificent author as a storyteller, although in this book, he stands out doing so with many stories other than the main one. Although I was fascinated by the way he narrates the events and interactions, I couldn't completely get attached to any character.
I felt that there was no main character, but many secondary characters. In the same way, I perceived the same thing about the problems that he wanted to make us reflect or be aware of.
I got a bittersweet taste because I tried everything I could to really like it, but I came up halfway.

La experiencia que tuve con este libro fue extraña.
Al inicio, no me atrapaba, pero me era interesante saber hacia donde iba. Luego sentía un tipo de compromiso con los dos personajes principales en lograr sus objetivos. Casi acabando dejó de interesarme porque sentí que cumplimos nuestro objetivo. Entonces, al final, me voló la cabeza con conocimiento, dejándome con muchas preguntas.
En esta historia, todos somos Ruth tratando de conocer la vida de Nao a través de su diario, pero, a la vez, somos Nao queriendo expresar nuestro sentir para que lo lea un extraño ajeno a nuestra realidad y llegue a sus propias conclusiones.
Fue gracioso, me reí fuerte en casa y también es reflexivo, tuve mis momentos de introspección.

Almost finishing, I stopped being interested because I felt that we met our goal. So in the end, it blew my mind with knowledge, leaving me with a lot of questions.
In this story, we are all Ruth trying to know Nao's life through his diary, but, at the same time, we are Nao wanting to express our feelings so that a stranger outside our reality can read them and reach their own conclusions.
It was funny, I laughed out loud at home and it's also reflective, I had my moments of introspection.

Creo que nunca (o hace tiempo) no leía un libro que profundizara tanto en sus personajes y lograra transmitir una montaña rusa de emociones en mí. Los temas de la salud mental, amistad y la vulnerabilidad del hombre es una combinación de la cual me encantó leer porque no suele ser común que vayan de la mano.
Hanya Yanagihara hizo un trabajo magistral con su narrativa, sus juegos con la línea del tiempo sin perder el hilo y adentrarse en describir cómo se sienten sus personajes por dentro y por fuera a través de sus situaciones físicas y mentales; quedé fascinado con su escritura.

I don't think I've ever (or in a long time) read a book that went so deep into its characters and managed to convey a rollercoaster of emotions in me. The themes of mental health, friendship and men's vulnerability are a combination that I loved reading about because it is not common for them to go together.
Hanya Yanagihara did a masterful job with her narrative, playing with the timeline without losing the thread and going into describing how her characters feel inside and out through their physical and mental situations; I was fascinated by her writing.

Al concluir el segundo libro de la serie, no sabía hacia dónde se iba a dirigir la historia. Sin embargo, me topé con el mejor de los tres libros (hasta el momento, no sé qué esperar del cuarto). Su nivel de morbosidad sobrepasa los límites y yo pensando que en los primeros dos había sido suficiente.
En este punto, ya uno se familiariza demasiado con los personajes y la historia hace que leamos una nueva fase de ellos. Hay malos y menos malos, cuestiona en qué lado uno ponerse, lleva al límite el razonamiento humano a través de las situaciones. ¿El bien y el mal? Eso aquí no existe por separado, ni en conjunto.
Una vez más, Carmen Mola expone el lado más oscuro de la humanidad.

Hay malos y menos malos, cuestiona en qué lado uno ponerse, lleva al límite el razonamiento humano a través de las situaciones. ¿El bien y el mal? Eso aquí no existe por separado, ni en conjunto.
Una vez más, Carmen Mola expone el lado más oscuro de la humanidad.

La serie continúa con su esencia, sacando a la luz la peor versión de los seres humanos. Nunca se sabe hacia dónde se dirige la historia y los giros que toma siguen siendo únicos. Conocemos un poco más de los otros miembros de la BAC, mientras que Elena lucha con su trauma del pasado (ahora bien presente).
Aunque por momentos sentí que la narrativa se repetía una y otra vez, no dejó de ser una lectura rápida de consumir. Siempre y cuando no se tenga un estómago sensible para escenas violentas completamente explícitas. La pregunta es, ¿qué pasa ahora?

Me encantó el comienzo de esta serie con toda su crudeza y morbosidad. El desarrollo de sus personajes y la forma en que van demostrando el porqué de su complejidad deja espacio para el futuro de la historia. No pude atar ningún cabo y eso me mantuvo leyendo sin querer parar hasta obtener todas las respuestas. Nada de lo pasó estuve cerca de imaginarlo y solo quiero continuar con el próximo libro. Ahora no sé qué esperar de Carmen Mola en el resto de sus historias.

The development of its characters and the way in which they demonstrate the reason for their complexity leaves room for the future of the story. I couldn't connect anything and that kept me reading without wanting to stop until I got all the answers. Quiero comenzar esta reseña resaltando que si tienes un gato como mascota, DEBES LEER ESTE LIBRO. El journey de Satoru en busca de un nuevo hogar para Nana se podría pensar que es uno lleno de fábulas y moralejas como suelen ser las historias japonesas que incluyen animales, sin embargo, este no es el caso.
Arikawa profundiza en las relaciones humanas y la responsabilidad e impacto de una mascota, sin dejar de lado el punto de vista del gato. Una historia cómica y llena de momentos que te abrazan y, a la vez, te apuñalan el corazón. Yo no estoy llorando… Tú estás llorando.

Su manera de narrar tan detalladamente cada acción y lo que ocurre alrededor de manera precisa fue mi área favorita para continuar leyendo. Sin dejar atrás la curiosidad hacia dónde iba con la historia por la movida de ir y venir entre pasado y presente.
Podría decir que una historia bonita, pero no lo es, es una historia cruda, honesta y vulnerable con muchos elementos psicológicos que aportan a ver la realidad de aquel momento desde otras perspectivas con personajes que solo quieren vivir y expresarse.

When reading the synopsis, you might think: “Yet another story based on World War II”, and yes, that's right, but it's a unique one. The author stood out for writing short chapters and telling us the lives of Werner and Marie-Laure separately through the years from their childhood to the present.
His way of narrating each action in such detail and what is happening around them precisely was my favorite area to continue reading. Without leaving behind the curiosity of where the story was going due to the movement of going back and forth between past and present.
I could say that it is a beautiful story, but it is not, it is a raw, honest and vulnerable story with many psychological elements that contribute to seeing the reality of that moment from other perspectives with characters who only want to live and express themselves.

El desarrollo de la historia de Franco y Polo junto a lo que está pasando en tiempo presente sin darte un aviso en que aquí se irá para atrás en el tiempo y aquí se insertará un diálogo, acompañadas de muchas descripciones, puede parecer abrumador, pero mientras más vas leyendo, más vas acostumbrándote a su estilo narrativo.
Desde la sinopsis, se notaba que sería una historia descabellada y lo que más me sorprendió fue su forma de añadir una crítica social en relación a la pobreza, juventud, clases sociales, familias, educación y el bajo mundo, sin explícitamente resaltarlo, irónicamente.

Lo más extraño que me ocurrió con este libro es que mucho de lo que escribe Rick Rubin es la manera en pienso acerca del arte. Toda persona que le guste crear debe darle una oportunidad. Un punto de vista se enfatiza en la conexión interna y externamente y cómo ambas partes influyen en la creación. Me gustó mucho el enfoque en ampliarnos la mente y los ejemplos que resalta para darnos a entender su tópico. Como escritor que soy, Rubin me pateó la cara varias de forma sutil y, a la vez, me dio muchos quotes para anotar y leer cuando sienta que dudo de mi capacidad creativa.
