The Secret Life of an Uncool Mom by Serena Terry

Funny fictional book, that is relatable to all moms but especially millennial moms like the author/main character. If you are a mom, this book is for you!

Really enjoyed this book it was heart warming and brutally honest at the same time! This book was a true MomCom with attitude and severe embarrassing moments.

I honestly didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. There were some sweet and spicy scenes that I liked and the romance was cute but some of the plot was just meh. I also wished that the secret admirer letters played a bigger role in the overall plot of the story but that wasn’t the case & I was honestly kind of bored at times.

I give this book 3.5 stars!

This novel is a very slow burn. The setup is way too long, which is why it took me SO long to get into the story. I was confused about the timeline, because we jump from present to past to recent past, back to present, then somewhere in between all of that again. We get both Jess's and Malcom's points of view, although it's weighted a bit more toward Malcom. Once you figure out the layout, I found myself invested in what happened to the main characters. Loved the family / generational twists and the overall vibe of the book in the 2nd half.

3.5 stars

The Only Survivors is told in a dual timeline of past and present but also while in the past in reverse chronological order (the past starts at hour 8 and works its way to the accident). This one is definitely a slow burn, but there is drama galore and some really unlikeable characters to entertain you along the way.

This book kept me guessing through out. It was well written. I liked the characters and the plot twist at the end. But the ending was not as satisfying as I was hoping for even through the plot twists.
A Lady's Guide to Etiquette and Murder by Dianne Freeman

This book was a delightful start to a charming historical mystery series. The female protagonist is bright, feisty, tender-hearted and clever. Author Dianne Freeman cleverly pokes fun at the ton of 1899 with all of its constricting rules of etiquette.

Love the main character. Never guessed who killed her husband. I love surprises, especially in a mystery. Ready to read the next one.

Rating 3.5

This is a wonderful romance, alternating between the past and the present. The chapter before the epilogue felt like it was telling me a story instead of showing me a story. But other than that, it was really good! it. I loved the author's descriptive writing. You feel transported to summer time at this lake resort and I really enjoyed reading that aspect. Where I had issues was I didn't feel quite as connected to the characters as I was hoping.

The writing - phenomenal, somehow the British accents come through in the pacing of the story and the characters are all charming in their own right.

Yes. Read it, it's just a wonderful time, truly. Mika is a sunshine-y that will win you over with sweetness, countered directly by Jamie, the grumpy love interest, hell bent on protecting his girls at any cost.

100% recommend this book, I think it’s just a fantastic fiction book and will leave a smile on your face.

I recommend this one for lovers of women’s/family fiction. It offers just the right kind of summer read; get to know Magnolia (Maggie), Lily and the others in the family. As a bonus, there is a restaurant too!

Love that all of their names are flowers and each women is totally different and complicated and fun to get to know. Great beach read of this summer!

What in the world! I loved it and then I was disappointed and then I loved it again, now I’m sad it’s over!!

I would like to know at this point where is the one million-stars button. Sometimes it's absolutely necessary. And this is one of these times.

This plot is insanely good!

an entertaining book about older people falling in love, not just the 20 year olds! I found it fun to invest in a story about people who were in their 40s and were experiencing love for the second time around.

Great Book! Really enjoyed the story and the writer definitely knows Nantucket and how to describe the area and the scenery.
