The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

It was fun and easy, although the science references and analogies felt pretty heavy-handed instead of natural at times.

It felt like the book couldn't decide what it was meant to be about, was trying hard to be a hard-hitting Margaret Atwood-style story, and also wanted to indulge in a futuristic dystopia. I tried hard to like it but I feel like it was just a very slow build-up to the last chapter when things finally got interesting.
Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

Listening to the author read on the audiobook made this so much more emotional and cut deeper. The final chapters had me weeping and the entire book has inspired me to visit Anju more often.

This book has been haunting my shelf since I started it, and I wish I had the strength to not finish something I am not enjoying. I pushed through because I loved the author’s other books, but wasn’t able to get into the story despite my best efforts. The meandering explanation of the world this takes place in throughout the story and shifting POV made it difficult to empathize with and understand the characters.
The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

Wendy Williams made a few points… so tragic how many people failed her at every turn and for such a long period. The writing was a bit choppier and less detailed than some other celeb memoirs, but the content was still heart-wrenching. I feel like it could have easily been 500+ pages and I would have gladly read it all.

- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

I flew through this - and loved the DC setting and references throughout even though it was difficult to watch the main character make the wrong choice at every turn.
