this book was pretty boring but in an interesting kind of way or maybe im just easily entertained. it kept me engaged and wanting to read more but the whole plot was literally nothing. it was all about a troubled girl growing up.
its very hard to describe but if you want a relaxing book that makes you think about the world in a different way this would be something i would recommend. if you like plot heavy books with exciting moments this is definitely not for you.
it was good enough im tempted to read the other books in the series.

it wasnt intsa love but they only had a few interactions and now they are in love ready to risk their status and family. definitely could’ve had more refinement i didn’t really feel their connection all that much it was very plain.
speaking of families their parents getting together not only does that make them step sisters…ew…but its a very lazy way of solving their main issue. i would have preferred to see them give up their status and start on their own or literally anything but their parents getting together.
it was an okay book it kept me engaged and i wanted to keep reading but there could have been more effort and thought put into this book. there were many possibilities that would have made this book so much more interesting and im upset the author didn’t take those opportunities.
light recommend this definitely isnt for everyone.

the book was fine but the fatphobic sub plot got so annoying so fast. hannah runs a bakery so every page there was a “omg im so hungry one bite wont hurt right but omg wait my diet *cries*” moment. if i wasn’t reading this book for a book bingo challenge i would have dnf’d it.
the love triangle was also unnecessary. it was pretty obvious who the better option was so it was just annoying for me.
the actual plot of the book was fine. i predicted who the killer was the moment they were introduced. the only reason i knew was bc i just had a feeling and not bc the book made it obvious. im just good at identifying bad characters/people. the book did an okay job of trying to keep you guessing who it was. almost made me doubt my guess a few times too.
im willing to give the other books a try but i wont be reading this again or recommending it.
