The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
4.5
The Seven Year Slip is SUCH a unique story! A love letter to grief and growth! I really wish I knew how to describe all the things I felt reading it, and especially towards the end. I really really liked this story, I loved Clementine, and loved Iwan! While there were moments I wish the whole time traveling thing was explained better, and moments I wished I saw more of them together, I could still feel the love, the chemistry and every emotion between them. This story is just unique, and special!

Thanks to PenPal PR for the ARC of It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia, in exchange of an honest review.
Let me start by saying that I really liked a lot of elements of this book. I ADORED the relationship between Cliff and his daughters, Emily and Brit. I LOVED seeing Michelle and Emily and Britt, it didn't feel forced and their relationship felt natural. I really enjoyed Michelle's and Cliff's banter, and I think they had a lot of chemistry.
HOWEVER, this is just not my favorite book from Julie. While her writing is still one of my favorites and like all of her books, this has such a comforting feel, I think it was just too long for my liking. The pacing was too slow for me (NOT THE ROMANCE, I love SLOW burn romance), but I wanted to see more of them together, I wanted to see more of them building the relationship. Throughout the book they talk about how they spend time together, how they see each other and help each other through the week, but we have to rely on that in stead of getting shown that development. It's just a thing of personal preference. I was a bit annoyed at their conflict, and I honestly don't feel it was fully resolved, I just wanted them to communicate, but alas, they didn't , and didn't seem to care they didn't talk it through.
I do recommend this book for those looking for a cozy read (NOT SHORT, just cozy) and THIS is SINGLE DAD done right!

Thank you so much Netgallery for the ALC ARC of Honestly, I'm Totally Faking it!
WHAT A TREAT this was! An Underrated Gem, a true romantic comedy with funny, steamy and heartwarming moments! I adored the whole thing, the way the main characters were just MEANT to be together, their banter, how well they complemented each other, their chemistry and how their whole relationship developed. Rach was a very relatable FMC. She was a people pleaser to the core, and while yes, naive, so intelligent and kind. I loved seeing her get out of her shell and try so hard to become someone different than what others would've expect her to become given her past. It wasn't easy for her to move from her past, but she tired and did a great job at it. Press..OH PRESS!!!! THE MAN YOU ARE! A grump with a heart of gold, honest and such a sweet nerd that had my heart melting! He was just PERFECT!
I LOVED the book and I wish more people give it a chance! It's a great one!

I will not allow ANYTHING BAD to be said about this book! NOTHING! It was sweet, heartwarming, beautifully written and just SUCH A STELLAR DEBUT! (pun maybe intended). I loved every second of it!!!!! Even the moments I was crying my eyes out while driving from work. I related so much to the FMC, and ahh I loved her story, her growth and how the relationship developed. LOVEEEEEEED Vincent too! His whole family!!! Loved how a flawed character understood his short comings and was willing to work them out. I just loved the book!

This book is 80% messy, 20% annoying BUT somehow (and disregard my HORRID math here) is 100% entertaining! This book will not be for everyone, the FMC is a HUGE problem here but somehow, seeing her become more brave and trusting was endearing to witness. The MMC is cute, and loved how he communicated with her. BOTH of them had a LOT, and I mean A LOT of bagged, but somewhat complimented each other and truly made each other better.
ALSO, I did this one on audio, and I didn't love the narrator, she was not giving ANY emotion to the characters...
