I truly enjoyed this book ... the author sure has a way of not only roping me in but also having me keep guessing. Just when I thought i had everything figured out ... BOOM 💥, I was wrong, lol.
Some people rated this low because they thought it was just magical realism, but in all honesty, the author is known for combining multiple genres and doing a damn good job doing it! 👏🏽
Although I did not love this to give it 5⭐️, it was still an amazing read!

I loved this for what it was.
I liked both of the MCs and loved their connection. However, they did not catch me so well to where I had this special connection to either.
Even though I related to Spencer because of her non-existent relationship with her mother, that was as far as I liked her. With Grady, I wish that it was different from your typical small town book where the MMC is always falling hard for the FMC. Just wish it was laid out better tbh.
Otherwise, I did like the underlying happenings ... where certain characters finally realized certain things and made decisions based on it. So safe to say there is definitely growth for some characters.
Just like Grady, I fell in love with this small town place 😍

I listened to the audio while following along in ebook ...
I have to say that I was looking forward to this, since most people reviewed this as being better than Haunting Adeline.
However ...
It did not live up to the hype, #myopinion 🤷🏽♀️
I did love the cat and mouse aspect behind Josh and Aly. Although similar to Haunting Adeline, it was not in the same category. I felt like it tried too hard to imitate another storyline and missed the opportunity of standing on its own in the same category.
I did love that knife scene 🫠💦 #iykyk

I am rating this the way I am solely for the sake of Fionn 😮💨
I just could not engage with Rose and what little she brought to this. I understand the concept behind the whole 'Sparrow' thing, but I could not get behind the half-assed deliverance of it.
She could never compare to what Sloane and Lark brought to their stories.
I truly wanted to love it enough for that 5⭐️, but it just did not live up to the hype from both the audience and the author. #myopinion 🤷🏽♀️
I do have to say that these men were the sole reason this series is a 5⭐️ read as a whole 🫠

I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...
I forgot how quick and easy the storyline flowed, and the author was able to remind me of that.
I was hesitant in diving back into this because in my mind, I felt I forgot what book 1 brought to the table ... although I remembered a lot of it, it slipped my mind about a key player in the story.
Although I liked this book and got some answers to some of the questions I had after book 1, I still loved the first one more than this one.
Am I excited to see how the next book concludes this? Yes, yes, I am!

This book had me roped since the beginning ... the author sure knows how to do that.
The twists and turns in this story had me turning the page to see what happened next. It was addicting!
I commended the FMC for her role in saving herself and those that needed saving. Sure had me thinking the worst for a minute.
The reason why this was not a full 5⭐️ was because it could have definitely been shorter, and the ending needed some work. I also could not get past the role one of the MCs played in this bizarre story!
I want to point out that the reason for my rating was also because it gave me nostalgic feelings about me being younger and watching movies on Lifetime. It was perfect!

I loved this because it reminded me of another book ...
The way this author was able to rope me in 🤌🏽 The need to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next was real!
I was not expecting some of the twists and turns ... I do admit that the ending felt too abruptly, but I get that it was a short Novella ✨️
