This is so freaking cute! I love this book so much! It made me feel all the FEELS! I laughed, I cried and I enjoyed it a lot. A friends to lovers perfection with a slow burn romance. An easy 5 star read for me!
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

This is a very interesting take on the Beauty and the Beast retelling, with a not so perfect main character, a very lonely yet deadly love interest and a guardsman that is always loyal to the throne. The plot of this book is refreshing to me since I don't really read retellings that much but I ended up enjoying it. The characters were great and I liked how each of them were developed as the story progressed. I also liked how the relationship between Harper and Rhen is done because it didn't push her to love him right away which I thought is realistic. The reason why I only gave this 4 stars because the pacing is a little bit slow for me that it made me bored at some time. I also didn't buy Harper's trust towards Rhen and Grey in the very first part of the book because I thought that its ridiculous and it seems like stockholm syndrome to me. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it and I will surely pick up the sequel when it comes out because of the ending.
Gyo by Junji Ito

I've read Uzumaki by Junji Ito two years ago and it easily became one of my favorites. Unfortunately, Gyo didn't do much for me. I was not invested in the story and I felt nothing, thinking that this will be spooky or gut wrenching. Its not. The explanation about the germ and stuff were not fleshed out well and that made me ask more questions and were answered with little information and unconvincing ones. Its weird but not the type of weird that's mindblowing. The only thing that I liked from this is the art style because DUH its Junji Ito. Overall, I still enjoyed it but not enough to be worth more than 3 stars.

Leah is one of my favorite characters in Simon Vs. and I was so excited to read this. However, this book disappointed me.

What I liked:
I appreciated the diversity in this book especially because the main character is bisexual and it also has characters who are gay and are people of color. I also liked Abby Suso's character. I really liked her personality and she honestly deserved better.

What I disliked:
I didn't like Leah's personality in this book at all. She's so rude, she's self-centered and she's making everything about her. I just couldn't get past on how negative her character in almost everything. It saddens me because this is not the Leah that I liked in the first book. It seems like she's a completely different character. I also didn't like how she didn't apologize to Abby after she came out to her. Its just frustrating. The romance, at first, I thought it was very cute but now that I think of it, it felt very rushed for my taste and the timing was just off. And the ending? Psh. The way this story ended is pretty bad in my opinion because we didn't get to see how their friend group was affected after what happened. Except we're just told through an epilogue email which is very brief so we didn't get enough information. I also didn't care much about Simon and Bram which is surprising but I feel so bad for Nick and Garrett though.

I'm not a huge middle-grade reader but I enjoyed this a lot. This was cute and a little spooky. I really liked the atmosphere that this book has and the plot is very interesting especially for a spooky middle-grade book. I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series because its that good.

Well, that was pretty weird. Unfortunately, this book didn't do much for me. I thought that this will creep me out but I ended up not feeling anything. Although, I found the exploration of the house to be very interesting but the ending ruined it for me.

This book is indeed funny and sad at some parts which made my eyes misty. However, it didn't really hold my attention that much. But, I still think that this book is good and is definitely worth the hype.

Wow! That was smart! Well, of course, we're talking about the queen of mystery here but frankly, this is the very first book that I read from her. The writing is simple but it never failed to lure me in. The plot is unique and very clever. The ending is a masterpiece. I could never figure who the culprit was and the epilogue still blows my mind. The reason why I'm only giving it 4 stars is because I'm looking for more complex elements to the characters but nevertheless this is still a fun and a suspenseful classic read and I'll definitely pick up some of her books in the future.
