Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson
2.0
This book had a great premise. The FMC is named Pheobe and she is obsessed with true crime. Her dad died, she goes and moves into his house to get it ready to sell over the summer and has a fling with the neighbor, Sam. At every corner, Pheobe sabotages her relationship with Sam and poor Sam is just given back and forths on why she wants him, but why she can't love him and it lasts throughout the book until the last like 10 pages. We don't even see a beautiful display of change and growth from our main FMC. She is very "woe is me" and doesn't realize it's her own actions. This book was hard to struggle through. But I loved it for the FMCs brother and Sam.

This book fully PISSED ME AWWWFFFFFFF.
First, the beginning is just rambling on and on about this and then, then suddenly in starts to get interesting about 40% of the way through, then the fmc falls through a fairie portal, gets captured, on the brink of death, brough back to life, then forced to live in a dungeon with a rapey ass bog monster don't even GET ME STARTED on the forced chemistry between the mmc and fmc. HOWEVER...... the very last 10% of the book left such huge plot holes that I will definitely be staying around to read the second and third book, and then I'm outttie. I hate that I liked this, but suffered to like it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really... really... REALLY love Ali Hazelwood's writing. I love how she writes about women in STEM and the men who swoon for them.

I loved the characters chemistry and the fact that they were both pre-med. Super cute book!

I liked this one! However, I loved the "serial killer is not actually good at her job" vibes but I think it lacked the flare as the other two books prior to this. I enjoyed Fionn and Rose and liked their stories, I loved the plot holes being covered and finished up, but I almost wish there was... more.

Kingfisher and Saeris have quite the dramatic start with their enemies to lovers mojo. I enjoyed the characters and the story and the moments between Fisher and Saeris that were swoonworthy were paced well within the book. I'm excited for Brimstone to come out!

This book read like an old haunting tale. I loved the characters, and the storyline was eery.
