This was a cute little gay vampire fiction. I loved Vincent wanting to find his place in the word after he was changed into a vampire. Vincent was able to scrape by as a vampire for 4 years by sneaking into homes and biting people for blood. Wesley is a down to earth guy whose mom got very sick and disappeared. Wesley wants to bait the vampire who bit him one night into coming back so he can find a way to figure out what happened to his mom. It was a funny/sweet/crazy ride and I wish there was a little bit more character development between Wes and Vincent.
I have not pulled an all-nighter for a book from start to finish since my high school days. Misery and Lowe SUCKED ME IN. Arranged marriage, vampyre × were[wolf] is always a good time. Love the characters and the humor that Misery brought to the function. This book was straight vibes through and through and was such a fun read!
This is such a heavy topic book, and while I know the world we live in, I think I'd prefer not to dive deeper into the "manosphere" where men from all walks of life encourage and engage in violence against women of any kind.
As a plus size girlie myself, I can understand for need to have plus size representation! And while I loved the entire premise of the story, I found it so hard to believe the characters were 36 and 40, respectively. With their immaturity (and no, I'm not talking just because like love writing fanfic is immature), it was so hard to see them as complex characters with internal battles about themselves. Pretty boy golden retriever was boring. Curvy redhead was... a flat character. I wish there was more depth to them both and while I still liked the story, I didn't LOVE the story. However, if you like fanfic, GoT tv actors vibes, and semi unrealistic people with flaws, this is the book for you!
I was not expecting this book to unfold a massive clusterfuck of confusion and I didn't see the twists coming. Absolutely loved that I was left out of the loop until the very last part of the book.
Reading this book and knowing Kristin Hannah did her best to remain true and historically accurate is awesome. Reading this was so heart wrenching and emotional, but the truth of what the Vietnamese war vets went through, along with the unmentioned women who served as Nurses and other titles in the Vietnam War. Great book for in depth perspective, even if it is fictional.
Brandon Sanderson is such an amazing writer. This series has by far been the most enjoyable I've read to dive into. Kaladin is godly and I simp for his character ark always. I did NOT forsee him becoming a Herald and Im absolutely not even shocked by that. I'm so scared to see what the futures holds for all of Roshar, and just how long time will have to pass before the Heralds come back again. Also... WIT!?!? Now I *have* to read the rest of the cosmere books. 🥴 Also when Shallan got stuck in shadesmar and clutched her stomach!? Is this a Kholin baby!?!?! I BET MY FIANCE $100 IT WAS because WHAT do you MEAN she has to keep living because its not just for her anymore??? It didnt elude to Adolin... and then the stomach thing!? I SEE A BABY IN THEIR FUTURE AHHHH anyways, this book series... I need it in a way that is bordering on obsessive. I will stew in my theories until Brandon puts me out of my misery. Journey before destination. 🙌🏼
Three Stars- the first book created a beautiful ground to create an amazing second book with. However, I felt like this one lack some OOMF based on other books she has. It wasn't a bad read, but it wasn't the ending I expected.
