This was really fun!!! An alternate universe with Godzilla-like creatures that occasionally spill into our world? Say less.

A reread for me. Definitely my favorite of all the bridgerton books! I'm mostly a sucker for a fairytale retelling and always will be.

I should preface this by saying, I'll probably read the rest of the series. But this felt like it was trying to be Throne of Glass + Fourth Wing. It took a bit to adjust the world building but it ultimately didn't have much new to offer.

Like most of Jones' books, this is a slow supernatural unfolding. The story is less about vampire and more about the colonialism inflicted upon the Native tribes during westward expansion and white guilt.

This was such an awesome, badass read. A group of women come into power as they enter menopause and hunt down a serial killer. So empowering and just fantastic.

I spent this whole book waiting for a twist that never came. It really needed a twist because it was super formulaic and just needed SOMETHING.

This was great to read after touring Pearl Harbor but I don't think I would have enjoyed it otherwise. A good, easy, predictable historical fiction novel for vacation.

I just don't think I'm the target audience for this anymore. It felt exactly like A Ballad of Songbird and Snakes. It felt so underdeveloped - like the characters were just tropes walking around.

This book was okay, but not what I was expecting when I picked it up. More literary thriller than straight thriller. I just wasn't what I was looking for but it was fine.

I am solidly unwell. And I need RED GOD like yesterday. I definitely need to reread the whole series to fully absorb it. Overall, I can't wait to see how this saga ends.
