This book was entirely ‘meh’ the whole way through. Although the premise of two young girls navigating through life and growing up is usually one of my favorites to read, this just missed the mark. I didn’t like a single character in this book and there were so many things that could have prevented that “bad” in this book. The ending was also super boring and the book overall just seemed kind of like a waste of my time. All in all, not a favorite.

Super fast paced and creepy. Made me feel uneasy at times but the ending was a little too unclear. Easily could have been a 5 star read if the ending had brought it home like I was hoping it would.

I really liked this book! The characters were fairly believable, and since I have experience working with children on the behavioral disorders spectrum I thought the portrayal was accurate. I really enjoyed the both perspective aspect of this story, hearing from both Hannah and Suzette, it brought the characters to life. I felt for the mom and loved how the portrayal of her longing to be a good mother but also being /human/ was strong in this story.
While I enjoyed this book, I did have a few issues.
The things I didn’t like;
1. There are so many schools and therapists for children with behavior issues, the doctors would have known around age 4 what was going on, and it made me irritated that they hadn’t recommended a school until she was already causing harm to her family.
2. The dad simply was agitating, he didn’t believe his wife even though SEVERAL other people said they saw the same issues as her, he was in denial and that’s dangerous within a family such as theirs.
3. The end was very meh, I felt as though more could have wrapped up.

All in all, a super strong story and I immensely enjoyed it. I would recommend to people who like delving into people’s thoughts and the psychology of behavioral issues but I would not recommend to someone looking for a thriller or mystery.

Wow. This book is NOT for everyone but man I loved it. The twist I wasn’t expecting, Claire is a badass that is suffering through trauma and I loved the ending.

Hm. I really wanted to like this book, I really did. But man, it was so flat? Agatha was BORING, Simon was annoying, penny was cool but literally just hermione rewritten and baz was interesting but not enough to save the book for me. The idea of this book was strong but it was too close to being basically Harry Potter rewritten with worse characters and a boring storyline. Sorry everyone :/ not for me
