This was my second time reading this book. I didn't think I fully appreciated it the first time and I was looking for a shorter book to read. After reading I know I definitely didn't appreciate it last time. I loved the themes, characters, plot, story and writing. I felt like I was right there with the main character, feeling angry, sad and all of the emotions with him. I had to have a cry after reading this book, which is impressive especially since I already knew how it ended and I never cry at books. I can proudly say that A Monster Calls is now the first book to ever make me cry- a well deserved title I'd say. I think I will definitely read this again at some point and it up there in my all time favourites.

I really enjoyed this book. A real classic that I can't believe I haven't read until now. It is written beautifully, with British humour weaved in and religious references all over. The footnotes were the funniest thing and I found myself laughing more than a few times. The characters are hard to not love, even if they are the antichrist or a demon. The dynamics are incredible, especially the angel and demon who's names I won't try to spell. The pacing was perfect, I really felt the urgency. And I loved how things were slowly revealed so that you could put the pieces together yourself. Over all, a really cool book with amazing plot, characters, themes and concepts.

I really enjoyed this book! I especially liked the layout of the chapters and the pacing of the book as a whole. You really felt like you were going through the process with Moonbeam and got to see her progress and open up more as time went on.
The concept of the story was really well written and exicuted and I throughly enjoyed learning somthing new about the story and community with each chapter.
This book really brought out a lot of intense emotions. I was shocked, amazed, angry, upset and proud fir the characters. I am genuinely amazed at the writing and would definitely recommend this book in a heartbeat!

I loved this! I find it hard to find books i like the whole way through, especially the ending. But Scythe did not disappoint at all. I loved everything about it from the world building to the character development to the twists and turns. I couldn't put it down.
