I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway contest. This novel is a captivating mystery, a whirlwind romance, and a psychological thriller all in one. I would recommend it to any reader looking for a read that will keep one on his or her toes.
This book is an exquisite work of historical fiction. I won a Kindle copy in a Goodreads giveaway, and I am so thankful that I did. I have a soft spot for novels featuring the discovery of long-lost diaries (thank you, Dear America series), and Julia Kelly seamlessly rotates between a young World War II “gunner girl” journaling about her experiences and a curious divorcee in the present day. Though the Second World War is an immensely popular era for historical novels right now, Kelly tackles a unique topic: wartime romance for women in the service. I think she does so beautifully, and I can’t wait to read more of her work.
