This book is, simply put, superb. It is 100% worth the hype it has received in the media. Never has a current or former First Lady seemed more genuine or down-to-earth than does Michelle Obama with the way she portrays herself and her incredible journey in this memoir. From feeling lust for her future husband, to buying just the right clothes for her daughters for political events, to laughing about uncomfortable high heels with the Queen of England, Mrs. Obama writes of an extraordinary life in a funny, heartwarming, thought-provoking way. I recommend this book to anyone interested in current events.

An unflinching examination of mother-daughter relationships, the devastating fallout of Münchausen syndrome by proxy, and the gray areas of human morality, Darling Rose Gold is a work which no reader is likely to forget. The plot is stunning, the prose is forthright, and even the most flawed characters are ultimately sympathetic. I, for one, hope that Stephanie Wrobel is just getting started.
