This woman deserved so much better than the life sheโs had until her conservatorship ended. Britney has been through so damn much and you realise that from reading her memoir. This is the second memoir Iโve had the pleasure of reading and the anger I felt for Britney is real. I think sheโs one of the strongest woman, and while I may not know her personally, I wish her nothing but happiness for the rest of her life because she bloody deserves it.
No one should be controlled, and no one should have to go through life struggling to the extent she did, but she made it out and she is going to be a role model for years to come.
This book was very emotional and will no doubt leaving you feeling a lot of anger towards those who wronged Britney, but itโll also make you realise that when things get really bad, there will come a day when a light will shine through. I absolutely loved reading about Britney through her own words, and I would love another book in the future from her.
If youโre interested in reading about celebrities and what theyโve been through, I definitely recommend reading this memoir!
After reading the first book of the series, I decided to read the prequel to see who broke Harleyโs heart and what they did to do so.
I think Jordan portrayed the diary of a fourteen year old perfectly, it was exactly as youโd expected it to be when a fourteen year old writes about her feelings.
What happened to Harley was disgusting and while I wish she got justice for it, Iโm hoping she will eventually. It was a shame to see someone get away with something so horrible.
Jordan Ford really does know how to hook you in and get you want to read more.
I found this story on a โStuff Your Kindle Dayโ last year and I was really intrigued by the blurb. Iโve never read a story involving surfing before but I liked the idea of someone teaching someone else to surf and being able to read about it. Harley and Aidan are complete opposites, the only thing Iโd say they have in common is that they love the water and love being able to do some sort of sport within it. Aside from that, they couldnโt be more different from one another. Aidan is seen to have the perfect life while Harley is barely scraping by most days, buts itโs amazing what a random encounter on a beach can do.
Before I start, I just want to say that I was so tempted to DNF this at the start because of Harley; I couldnโt stand how judgemental she was nor how much she seemed to throw herself a pity party, but as time moved on, I was able to understand while she sometimes acted the way she did, and while I donโt completely agree with her for some of it, her character did start to grow on me. If you happen to feel the same about Harley, Iโd recommend sticking it out, her character does develop!
Aidan is an absolute sweetheart but sometimes I wanted to shake him and question him about what the heck he was doing because this man really didnโt use his head at times. He had a heart of gold and wouldnโt hurt a fly unless you hurt someone he loved, but then heโs also incredibly stupid and hurts people in the process because he doesnโt think about things logically and when heโs trying to stop someone from feeling hurt, another person ends up hurt because of him.
Despite Aiden and Harley being so different, I think they got in extremely well and have the chance to go far as a couple as long as they communicate better. The character development that happens for the both of them goes a long way and itโs nice to see Aidan understand just how well his life is compared to others. I really loved how much he grew to love surfing and the choices he made for himself following the lessons Harley gave him.
Another thing I enjoyed within this story was the little plot twist that took place, I was wondering what was going to happen for things to go wrong and yet it didnโt happen in the way that I expected. It was a great way to make this book into an entire series and Iโm excited to read them!
I think the only things that bothered me within this book was the rich, popular mean girl stereotype and the use of the word โchickโ (it made me want to hit my head against a wall, I just find it so gross when a girl or woman is called chick). Despite that, there were so many positives to outweigh the negatives and I would also like to mention the snippet of diversity within the story. I think some more diversity could be given but it was nice to see a POC character!
For anyone who enjoys reading young adult books, this book would be perfect. In a way, it gives me wattpad vibes and who doesnโt love those?
I did not expect to love this book as much as others, at first I couldnโt understand the hype surrounding it, but now I understand it, and to anyone who rates it less than five stars, I think youโre crazy.
I have no clue as to what Rebecca Ross was drinking or taking while writing, but she needs to continue to do so. I am in awe of her and the masterpiece that she created.
The one thing I want to get out of the way is that this story is NOT an enemies to lovers, there is no way that Roman and Iris are enemies, they are rivals and I wish the story would stopped being described as an enemies to lovers. Neither of them hate one another, but they are competitive and are constantly trying to be better than the other.
Now onto the good stuff!
There is something beautiful about two people writing letters to one another and not knowing anything about one another, but finding safety within these letters. Whatโs even more beautiful is for one person to know, and yet continue to write because they want to know the other better. Roll this into a ball with the fact that they are connected by magic and family? It becomes even more beautiful, and it warmed my heart massively.
I really love the way Rebecca tackled the โfound familyโ trope within this story because I for one have never considered what it would be like for you to up and leave everything you know to be a war correspondent, but now I feel as though I have an idea. The people you meet and spend your days with become your family, a family who rely on one another to protect each other and themselves while also trying to enjoy and hold onto the little moments that mean a lot. Marisol was such a lovely woman and definitely came across as a mother figure, and it amazes me that someone so strong and independent can continue to find the good in life day in and day out despite the things she sees. I also hope to see more of Athea in the next story, I think sheโs capable of so much and it wouldnโt surprise me if she ends up fighting in the war to defend Enva.
Moving onto Romanโs family. I WANT TO PUNCH HIS DAD SO HARD IN THE FACE ITโS NOT EVEN FUNNY. Who the heck does he think he is? How dare you blame Roman for something tragic that happened, and how dare you constantly control him. Heโs a piece of shit, and all he cares about is security. I do however think Iโve figured out what he was classing as security from the Little family. It filled my heart with pride when Roman went against his fathers wishes and did something for himself, it also made the story that much better in my opinion as it showed a bit of character development for Roman.
Finally, I just want to talk about the slow burn between Roman and Iris. The tension that built between them was incredibly beautiful and while the way things have currently ended is heartbreaking, I truly think they are meant to be and will over come everything. The way the fell for eachother and the way they became so in sync with one another showed just how perfect they are together, and when it was the night before things went down, their moment was precious, and one of the best intimacy scenes I have read. Sometimes you donโt need smut for something to be hot, sometimes you need just to read about the scene beginning, and itโs how it begins that makes it more remembered.
I could go on for hours about this book but Iโm doing best to not spoil anything and if I continue, I will do just that. I cannot wait to purchase Ruthless Vows, and hereโs to the next book ruining me more than the first.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

Jessica Joyce forever has my heart with her worrying and what a perfect little novella she wrote! Youโd think an author would struggle to catch your feelings so fast and so perfectly with a book that has less than 100 pages but no, Jessica Joyce is just the powerful and great.
I love the idea of seeing someone for the first time and instantly being attracted to them, to know that thereโs some sort of magnetic pull that will keep you going back to them, and thatโs what you get with Claire and Connor. Two people that are so perfect for one another, yet itโs not the right time.
As Claire takes a risk before taking an even bigger one, she finds out that sometimes being careful can pay off and that itโs worked in her favour when she comes across Connor. This man is all sorts of perfection and Iโm jealous that Claire got to spend not one, not two, BUT THREE NIGHTS with him. Like come on? Why canโt good things happen to me? Iโm a good person?!
Something that really stood out to me within this book was how that even when something is giving you a reason to not do something, you follow your gut and do it anyway. Taking a risk is never easy but it does often pay off in a good way, and even though Claire and Connor met at the wrong time, it was the right thing to happen. Claire continued to do what she dreamed and it worked out for them in the end.
I also just want to talk about how even though there were a lot of sexual scenes within the story, I love the intimacy the took place. Some innocent laughter and long gazes can go a long way during a moment, and those little things make everything more memorable and meaningful. The romance was perfect and then the little New Yearโs party? JUST TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY.
This will be a favourite for years to come, and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants something fast, soft and adorable as anything!
Above are just a few things you can find within the short story that will leave you happy and content while reading it. The original thing that drew me to the book was the title, I thought it was going to be a book full of romance yet it turned out to involve more mystery than anything, and it was something I really enjoyed!
Stella has left the place she calls home to meet her partners family, a family that she had no idea was so well known or rich. Little did she know that sheโd end up trying to find out a killer while spending her time there.
I liked that Shayla was relatable in the terms of her confidence and how she felt about herself, Shayla feels as though sheโs like anyone else who just wants to fit in and be liked enough by someoneโs family, and while she lacks confidence in certain areas, I also love how she occasionally pushes the boat out and goes with her gut feeling and follows up on her instincts. She has plenty of character and I think she deserves the best.
I had a suspect list every so often and while I got every single suspect wrong, there was always a secret unravelling about someone, and if you thought you knew that character fairly well? You probably didnโt. I love that Stella wrote characters with such deep backgrounds that everytime youโd peel a layer, youโd find out more. I also love how Stella led me to think that a man like Seamus could be bad because heโs just so damn perfect.
There was the perfect element of romance and mystery within the story and I really did love the setting taking place in Ireland. It was an incredible story and I hope thereโs more Shayla Murphy mysteries on the way!
This was a super heart warming book that allowed you to see precepts that really made you think a little, I loved how it was based on real teaching, and that the stories were 100% true!
Definitely a cute little read for young adults or someone who just wants a little bit of positivity in their life!

Iโm a sucker for a Tessa Bailey book and Lord, this cute little story did wonders for me. I absolutely adored the plot and the idea of someone being a window designer?! Like how unique is that job?
I absolutely ADORED Aiden and if I could buy him all the silly bow ties in the world, I would. This man has an actual heart of gold and Iโm so sad that him and Aunt Edna arenโt real people because I so badly want to meet them. Aiden is honestly a golden retriever but in bed, fuck me, like literally, can he? The loyalty he has to Stella and the faith he has in her is heartwarming and he deserves a man of the year award idc.
I loved the Stella was an ex-con and that she had so much character development. You can tell that while she may seem rough around the edges, sheโs a softie deep down, and itโs about time she had the confidence and belief in herself that others clearly do. I absolutely hated that she felt the way she did in regards to her friendship with Nicole and I was so proud of her for standing up to Nicole.
Speaking of Nicole, I was expecting a whole situation to go down but I love the little plot twist that Tessa threw in, it just made the book even better and had me smiling because it just benefitted Stella in so many ways.
The only disappointment was the lack of diversity. I NEVER see any diversity in Tessaโs books and I really wish I would for once. Sometimes itโs a little boring to see the same kind of characters over and over again rather than different characters that are representing a disability, a sexuality, a race or more. Diversity is so important in books and for me, itโs something that Tessa needs to include.
Despite this, I loved the book and Iโm so glad I got it!!
