Wow, this one is fun! I loved the family aspect to this, the mysteries of the high class and all the drama!

This book opens with the inauguration of President Diffenderfer, I know, ridiculous name, who has taken her husband's name so we don't know her true identity. We are then introduced to four high school friends and it's known that one of these girls are destined to become President Diffenderfer. It's a fun, light-hearted story about female friendship and growing up, but it covers hard topics of classism, sexism, racism, ableism, and so much more. It's SO GOOD. Please read it.

I read this in one sitting!!! That's it. That's the review.
But seriously, this book covers religious obligations, tense family dynamics, and being a teenager and all that it entails. I loved this book, and was 100% cheering for Xiomara the whole time, and am still cheering for her.

As a not-fan of Fixer Upper, this book was like honey to my SOUL. Even though it wasn't actually about the famous couple, I ate it up, I loved the behind the scenes look at the crumbling couple, and then their redemption at the end. I listened to this book on Audio and the narrators did such a great job making it lighthearted and entertaining. I love the CLo books and can't wait to read what else they put out.

PLEASE READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS.
This book was everything I wanted, fast-paced, trust-no one, teenage drama, almost gory in places murder mystery with such a satisfactory ending. It's DARK, and twisty, but held my attention the entire time.

Through the use of chapters that read like mini-stories, Stradal tells a story that spans three generations and many, many glasses of beer and pieces of pies. I loved the strong female characters, and the cozy slow-paced story set in the Midwest a highly underrated part of the US.
