Did not finish book. Stopped at 44%.
Too lightweight and predictable for my taste. I don’t read much of this “woman’s fiction” genre.

It made me think of those made for TV movies, where you know the heartbroken person will find healing through exposure to another country’s culture.

Very 1970s—slow-moving plots, a lot of ideas jammed into one story that could have been longer. It makes sense to reboot Peter Quill like they did, and make him a more active character. This Star-Lord mostly passively reacts to events, which is boring to me.

There were a couple of good jokes. A lot of the humor was in-jokes I didn’t get.

It seemed like the author wrote about teenagers and wheelchair users, or an asexual person,  but never actually based her characters on real people. It all felt like second hand descriptions.
