What a wonderfully written masterpiece inspired by cruel human traits such as greed, the hunger for power, the feeling of superiority... I feel like I have learnt so much from this book and I will think of these characters for a very long time to come.

While I dearly loved every book that I read from Leigh Bardugo, this was a little bit of a miss for me. I loved the story and the characters, but the plot and the pace were awkward, at times even boring. The last few chapters really made up for everything that I didn't like in the book and I will continue reading this series.

I am so glad that I have read this book. And I know I will come back to it whenever life will take a rough turn for me.

A twisted read with a heavily unreliable narrator and ending that will drive you insane

Such an emotional rollercoaster. I feel like this is a very important story, not just because it reminds us of a tragic event from the past that we just seemed to have forgotten but it also reminds us of the importance of family, forgiveness, kindness and unity.

As someone who sometimes feels like an outcast in this society, I connected with this book on so many levels. This was not just a love story or a growing up story, this was a story about the underdogs, about people who were forgotten about, who fight until their very last breath to not become the person everyone is expecting them to become. This is a story that you reach for when you lose hope in what's going to come, a book that you can find strength in.

This is a slow-burning, kind of lighthearted mistery but I really liked the character building and the initial mistery is what makes me want to go on and read the whole series.
