Liz is very much insufferable, but I was able to handle it through like 75% of the book because the divide between how insufferable and how relateable she was, was pretty even. UNTIL WE GET TO THE LAST 25%. God. Liz got so awful so quickly, it took me a solid week to read the last 25% of this book because of it(For context that last 25% was 69 pages, I WAS STRUGGELING). But because I loved the rest of the book and the last 20 pages made up for it, it gets a 4.75 stars.
very good book, but to whoever assigned this book for my SE English and made it that there was no altnerative option for people who can not deal with heavy topics like rape. FUCK YOU!!!
What the actual fuck was that ending? What do you mean David was kissing another person at the bar? AND NO EXPLANATION OR ANYTHING? What the actual fuck.
Definitely liked this book the most out of the three! It’s more plot related while still having the characters be an important part of the story. Even though I feel like some things don’t really make sense plot wise, I’m willing to overlook it because I don’t care enough to think about it.
This book is just fine, but I have a lot of things I want to complain about so I’m doing it here :p
This book is wayyy to obsessed with its characters, to such an extent that the plot is, for most of the book, left alone (which is stupid considering it’s the only interesting part about the book).
There are so many unnecessary scenes in this book that should have been replaced with some plot related scenes! It would have helped with how slow and dragged out the book feels.
This book also suffers from the fact that it has wayy too many characters, that are all getting way too many scenes even though they’re not that important to the story.
Apparently the author misgenders one of its nonbinary characters repeatedly throughout the book even though it has been established that this character uses they/them pronouns(I did not notice this myself but someone I follow did), which i assume was an oversight in the editing process since it was fixed in the second and third book.
Even though I have many criticisms of this book, I ended up getting invested in the plot and decided to read all three books in three days(so I guess it’s not completely terrible).
The fair ones definitely should have been fleshed out more since I’m still kinda unsure about how they work but I enjoyed the story! Definitely one of those books u shouldn’t analyze to closely or otherwise it’ll fall apart though!
