Another heavy book, but with many beautiful moments.

The strength, resilience, and love this family has for each other (certain elders excluded) was an immense pleasure to observe.

It may not be the ending readers hope for, but it's what works for this motley family of misfits and that makes it perfect.

As always, YMMV

Do your due diligence before reading and mind your squicks.

A brilliant and unique modern horror classic.

Absolutely riveting and deeply disturbing.

Loved every moment of it.

Delving into the past via a journal, Oliver learns the dark and painful truth of his family's past.

I've sat with my thoughts for quite a while since finishing this, but I still find myself unable to properly articulate all the feelings I have.

It's a lot.

Damn good book.

Poor coping skills, co-dependency, abandonment issues, anger issues…this family is full of red flags, courtesy of their past.

A heavy read, despite most of their trauma only alluded to in this book. These guys are broken and dysfunctional, but they make it work with their own unconventional rules and the support of the family they've created.

This series isn't for sensitive readers, so mind your squicks.

Onto book 2…

It was a struggle to get into, but once I found the groove it was a good story.

I didn't expect a HEA, but the ending was satisfying in it's own way. YMMV, of course.

The writing style isn't for everyone, the gore is very graphic, and the casual bigotry could be a lot for those unused to such vulgarity. Mind your squicks.

When I start reading this I was apprehensive. One of the MCs has a tendency to repeat, often, their mantra of a plan. Repetitive speech tends to drive me bonkers, but I persevered and I'm so glad I did.

What a charming tale of two very awkward guys in quite a unique situation.

Vincent is a down-on-his luck vampire and Wesley is a man on a mission. When their worlds collide, it sets them on a course neither ever expected but both sorely need.

The villains in this world are both heinous in their actions and all too common in their bigotry. You'll love to hate them.

The story is set in a contemporary world, but the subtle additions of preternatural elements gives it a wonderfully unique vibe.

I look forward the rest of the series. ✌🏻

A heartwarming action/adventure about finding yourself, falling in love, and trying not to burn the world down.

There's pirates, assassins, mentions of a sea witch, nefarious schemes…oh just go read it already.

It's good fun. ✌🏻

A heartbreaking and emotional novel about grief,  trauma, abuse, perseverance, found family, and love.

Beckett and Riley have lived a world of pain and suffering, with no one but each other to rely on.

Thankfully, their strength and love helps them see it through to a hopeful future.

This was a very difficult read. The author pulls no punches with the MCs trauma, both past and present, so do mind your squicks.

A wonderful and beautiful story. Definitely looking for more from this author.
