salman rushdie kills me every time. there's so much plot and detail and so many characters in these books, and theres always a criticism of some aspect of the modern world and how we go about our lives. i'll never get tired of the offhand way that rushdie kills off characters, just sends something awful their way and writes something lighthearted about it and moves on as if nothing happened. it's wild but i love it

full and dynamic characters with intertwining lives and incredible backstories. u know when u get to the last few pages of a book and all the connections suddenly make sense and your heart races? yea this is that kind of book and it is amazing.
