Eight Seconds to Ride by Ashley James
5/5 ✨🌟
Audiobook by Alex Kydd & Aaron Shedlock

* * * SPOILERS * *

I have to say, best audiobook ever! Alex and Aaron narrated both Shooter and Sterling perfectly. This was my first Ashley James book and it did not disappoint at all!

Gosh, I loved these two so much. I wanted more when the book was over but also read the bonus scene was just soooo sweet.

From one night stand in the bathroom after a win to these two being just the cutest couple ever.

Shooter was the perfect grumpy character. He went from grumpy to just breaking my heart when he was going through so much. From his dad’s pressure to being the ultimate best and not getting his dad to say how proud of him was all that Shooter wanted. It was horrible that his sister, Daisy, got all the praise that he always wanted. And I absolutely loved how his sister stood up for him to their dad in the perfect way.

And when Shooter found out that Sterling had been a virgin from Daisy and Sterling talking, which he was eavesdropping on, he was baffled. I knew right then and there that this man wanted to give the world to him. And the re-do, my god, that was the perfect first time for Sterling. Shooter sure did make up for Sterling giving his virginity in a public shower stall.

And the side characters were so great and how his best friend found out about his feelings or even how everyone started to find out about them. Even with Shooter’s cocky attitude, he wanted to give all the firsts to Sterling and certainly preened when he realized he was getting all of Sterling’s firsts.

I cannot wait to read the next installment in this amazing series!

Holy hell. This book sent me through so many emotions. From angry to sad to smiling to laughing to crying and to getting the HEA at the end was so worth it. This was the first book by J. Daniels that I’ve read and it makes me want to read other books.

I’ve had this book in my TBR list for a while and I’m so glad I listened to the audiobook while scrolling through the pages on my tablet.

I loved how it started with Jake having to go to meetings after he got dumped and found out his girlfriend had cheated on him and left him for someone else. The relationship with CJ and Jake was hard, especially when CJ said he wanted nothing to do with him and hated him. God, I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much in this scene because it was so heartbreaking. It was hard because this was the guy that Jake really looked up to and he pretty much knocked that down after Riley’s trip to the hospital.

Jake and Felix were freaking everything. I loved how they tried to fight their attraction but it was merely impossible from how sweet they were for one another. From Bella to the donuts and sweets, I was swooning from the moment these two confessed their love for another.

And Hector and Miguel were hilarious. They were like the girlfriends that Jake needed in his life. And Oooh Jake got a tattoo even when he hated needles with a passion.

You will definitely go through your emotions from Felix’s father to Jake and CJ having a small falling out and to Jake going back to rehab. Yep, this book is probably my top five of the year so far. Felix was what Jake needed because he was the one positive thing in his life and vice versa for Felix. When the book ended, I just wanted more.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received this book. I’ve read Emilia’s other books, so I shouldn’t be surprised by this book. I love it when an author really does their research on certain characters disabilities. I fell so in love with Sofiya and Matteo so much that it makes me so hopeful for a love like this. I may not have disabilities like this but a girl can dream to be doted and loved on, right?

From the moment Matteo was brought in, I knew he was going to be hardheaded and just so lovely. He didn’t want to have feelings for his beautiful wife, but he couldn’t stop. From the moment, he tasted her cookies and not knowing they were the ones she baked, he was done for.

The bath scene when he took care of her, ugh, I just fell in love with him in how much he wanted to take care of her. And I love how Romeo, Angelo and Sienna are with her. So sweet!

And Matteo and Romeo crack me up, especially when it comes to her baking skills. The strawberry shortcake scene had me dying with laughter when Romeo ran out with the pan in hand. And they all loved her cooking and baking in the end.

And the smut scenes were so spicy! The fact that Matteo was so careful and got her the pillows and cushions so she wouldn’t hurt… ugh, so sweet and caring. Like c’mon, he got her a service animal, who is the sweetest dog ever!

I don’t even know why I was surprised by how well she wrote out the actually fighting scenes during the end of the book. And I loved how he replaced her boring wedding ring with one that suited her and even got assistance to get the right ring for his lovely wife.

I really hope she makes this a series so we can see the stories for the side characters. I really wanted more of this story and I was so sad to see this story end. It was everything and then some for these two. I still cannot believe that this was her first mafia romance because just… wow!

Loved it!

I didn't think I was going to enjoy it but I did. I love that Tally got her happy ending.
