the art was beautiful but that was almost the only thing I liked about this book. the plot was confusing. I didn’t understand why there even was a conflict between rami and nayra. Everything was solved too quickly. Nayra also immediately forgave all of her bullies just after they apologized ONE time. I thought I would love this book so I’m really disappointed but again the art was stunning so at least that. Also the djinns were cool but again I thought the conflict wasn’t very well fleshed out.

i really enjoyed reading this book but i did find gwen annyoing a bit and how she never stoof up for herself. i know it was part of her characters growth but i still thought it was quite annyoing.   i would like if the author talked more in depth about the relationships between art and gabe,  bridget and gwen. i dont think we know anything about their dynamics but that they kissed few times.

i had to reread this book. i remember being absolutely obsessed with it and i had a good reason why! it’s fantastic. i love the atmosphere and the representation of latinx culture. i loved how it weaves magic into this already magical culture. i did get annoyed by yadriel sometimes throughout the book but he still was a really good character and definitely had a huge development. 
loved this audiobook. such a talented actor!! i loved how the book discussed real life hardships of trans people and queer kids whom were kicked out of their homes.

this book was raw and definitely a challenging read. i cried so many times for lea, for rumi, for their mom, for everyone. this book showed a very real and raw depiction of grief of losing someone you love. i related to rumi in so many ways that sometimes i didn’t like her. don’t get me wrong she was incredibly written character and i love her. this book was absolutely incredible. i mean alice oseman recommended it so obv it was. i love when a book makes me feel so much
