Night Shift by Stephen King
4.0
My introduction to Stephen King's short stories. There were some GREAT stories and some alright stories. None of them were bad, though. My favorites were Graveyard Shift, The Mangler, The Boogeyman, Battleground, The Ledge, The Lawnmower Man, and Quitters, Inc. I highly recommend them if you are into horror and want something quick to digest.

Okay... I’m starting to feel uncomfortable at the amount of 20th-century dystopian fiction I’ve been reading and watching that parallels myriad things going on in the past few years. It’s really weird.
However, I enjoyed this book a lot more than I anticipated. The beginning actually had some really solid world-building and the middle was anxiety-inducing. Towards the end I was a bit afraid Richards was going to oblige the corporation, and even though I prefer a bleak ending, I was gearing up to feel disappointed. That last 10 pages or so really earned this book a star!

Fascinating. One of those plots that you hear about and sound so obscene you may not want to read about but are quietly interested in.
Roadwork by Stephen King, Richard Bachman

I thought this book was great. Sure, it seemed odd that the climax of the book lasted about 10 pages at the very end, but I feel as though the climax was one of the least important parts of the book. In my opinion, it was more about the reasons as to why he felt the need to stand off against the police, and why he felt the need to demolish the house himself as opposed to just giving the house up to the city. I still loved it though. All the scenes with Olivia made me laugh, too.

This was a wild ride. Family drama is such a joy and also such a downer to read about but damn is it interesting.
The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams

A solid introduction to plays. However, I need to stop reading stuff that I relate too... I guess the next book i’ll read is The Game of Thrones LMAO
The Grownup by Gillian Flynn

This is a perfect example of why I love short stories. I can’t remember how many times I whispered “oh my god” aloud while reading this. Also, it cemented my love for Gillian Flynn! Loved this story.

Ahh, so this is where the idea of the video game Among Us came from...
The Test by Sylvain Neuvel

I was going to say this would be a great Black Mirror episode until I saw Sylvain Neuvel was supposed to be an author for the scrapped first book in the Black Mirror universe.
