Everything about this should've given whimsical fairy tale forest adventure but it didn't. I was trapped in a world of gun powder, politics and military, which is my worst nightmare when it comes to this type of books. The illustrations are the only serve in this book,  if i ever touch this book again it'll be just to skip thru the drawings girl...

Just terrible. Cant believe i spent almost a month trying to finish this book, boring as hell, definetly a product for those fake deep tumblr 2014 ppl.The ending act was somewhat getting somewhere but then it just ended. Characters not developed enough to be saying all that sht like...

I loved the writing style and the scenes described. I wish the Iron Lady would've got more screen time, though.

pretty chidlish in some parts, other parts (towards the end) you'd think this is a +16 book. The plot was pretty insipid, the characters don't let you create a mental bond with them because how how one dimensional they are... tbh nothing remarkable.

I laughed, I smiled, I cried, I sobbed... These are the kind of stories that stay with you forever. I hope Trond and Jon live a good life (they're so queer coded).
The last pages of this book brought me to TEARS. The way he said the most devastating and heart-wrenching things like they were nothing will always make me cry. I'll keep having flashes of this book in the future inside my head, and i'll just cry a little every time. Some parts in the middle got too heavy, though.

Honestly so many mixed thoughts with this book. There were moments where I couldn't help tearing up, there were other moments were I felt like I couldn't wait to just finish and get over the book. I defiantly feel like all the praise overhyped it but anyways, good for the author. The star of the show were deifnetly the scenes dominated by Little Bee and Charlie's relationship, those were the moments were I couldn't help but burst out in tears like they're the goodies.

This preacher's daughter coded serve... its so dark and unsettling. No one of fhe characters is really likeable, they're just normal people with big flaws like everybody else (some worse than the others) I find that the women in here are victims, each one of them, even ruthless Ruth. Wish we got more in depth with Boyd's story bc he seems like such an interesting character. Found myself wanting to read more about what happens next, is this the freedom she desperately needed? did she like it after the rush of adrenaline wore out? did she get her pink car with a matching tussy lipstick?

The plot had big potential; a gay detective? yes please. The execution tho, was disappointing. The characters are very one dimensional, the development is not there at all and this book just doesn't intrigue you as you read more and more. I'm being generous with my rating too like...
