The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Not many books evoked this much emotion inside of me. I never cried this much to a story I can not relate to, but I can not help myself. The relationship depicted in this story is everything; beautiful, tragic, toxic, disappointing, amazing... so many details to focus on, so many descriptions of places to live in. The book is not perfectly accurate to the real myths of these characters, but honestly, WHO CARES? the use of already known characters to make your own separate story is honestly so good to me, for you can already have a little idea, a little image inside of your head.

The grief, love, and desperation Patroclus feels through this story is sort of relatable in a weirdly sad way. He will always have a dear place in the depths of my heart.

There are not many books that make me feel this way but with "Blackberry Wine" I felt as if I was living in Pog Hill with Jay. The story evoques such a grand feeling of nostalgia (one of my favourite feelings when reading) with its descriptions of flavours, scents and places, you cannot get past a chapter without stopping to think about how you're feeling at that moment. Even though the ending had shown that we couldn't, I hope that we get to read the next masterpiece of Jay Mackintosh and even get a glimpse of Jackapple Joe. You know the greatest novels of all time were never made.
Giving it 5 stars because this novel inspired me to start reading again and maybe even write a little.

The idea was there, and it was perfect; This book was dedicated to telling the true story of Medusa, an innocent girl wrongly punished by the gods. But It just didn't come through perfectly. The writing and story telling is good, each chapter you read makes you want to continue reading all day but personally I wish it was more focused on Medusa, I felt like she was a little overshadowed by the other God's stories.
But anyway, it's very interesting and I really liked it. Fvck Perseus and Athena and that dude Poseidon.

DAMN. This was insane, I thought it would be a little cute book about cottage life between a mother and her child, but this took a big turn. The unexpected occurrences keep you at the edge of your seat and trust me, you'd never guess what happens in the last pages of this book. I wanna scream into the air of a cold winter day now.

EVERYBODY SHUT UP! DAMN I loved this book. The way it transports you to the scene is INCREDIBLE, I felt like I was right beside the characters, talking with them and shi. Danny is such an iconic main character, yeah he needed to get slapped sometimes but like... I loved this story I really did. Wish it never ended in a way, bc that ending didn't give me full closure but his farewell made me tear up and I ain't one who cries a lot with books.
