Good for a first book in a series. I don't have much to say other than I will be continuing to read the series.

This book is seriously all over the place, especially after reading the first volume.

I know the author is trying to explain all the concepts of domains, domain expansion, cursed energy, negative cursed energy, etc., etc.. All I have to say is: whatever you say, beautiful. It's going over my head. I'm just here for what I know is gonna happen in the near future.

This was a beautiful book, but I wish it were twice as long. I liked every aspect of it, but every aspect also felt lacking to some degree. I didn’t get to know the characters as much as I’d like; I wasn’t fully immersed in the world-building, and the ending came way too fast and much too abruptly.

Meh. I don't know. I didn't really relate to this one at all. I mean, I related to it in the way that I've been in messy queer relationships before. The characters are college-aged and graduating, yet they act like they're still in high school. I didn't really like any of the characters either. Like they were all just created to be messy and have no redeeming or lovable qualities.

Except maybe Lou, I liked Lou, but they were completely overshadowed by the other characters.

I was just not invested in their downfalls, their successes, or anything.

This book is one of the most devastatingly beautiful books I've ever read. I am not a fan of Greek mythology, which is why it took me so so so long to finally read this book, but the author's writing is lyrical, intimate, and so goddamn tender that I couldn't help but to be drawn into Achilles and Patroclus' love story. I could have read a whole book about them being boys, coming of age, fishing in the streams, and playing their music together.

So, since I mentioned that I'm not a fan of Greek mythology, you can probably come to the rational conclusion that I did not know how their love story would end. I had absolutely no knowledge going in, which left me absolutely gutted by the end.

I wasn't ready. I will think about them forever.

Black Beauty is a classic. I remember reading it as a young horse-obsessed child in third or fourth grade for the first time. It will never fail to tug at my heartstrings and make me emotional. An excellent book I think everyone should read at some point in their lives.

Paper Towns

John Green

DID NOT FINISH

Marked as DNF, and I don't think I'll try to revisit it. This was another John Green book where I was excited to read from a teenage male main character's perspective, but... I liked "Q" a lot less than the main character in Looking for Alaska. It's possible that I simply don't enjoy the "Mystery" category.

Another super cute Heartstopper volume. I have nothing but good things to say about this cute little series. I am a little devastated that It's coming to an end in Volume 6 though!

So, I don't think this was my favorite book of all time, but I did appreciate reading something from a somewhat different perspective. I think I've read a million and one books from a teenage female main character, but I think reading from "Pudge"'s point of view was an interesting switch-up from what I feel like I normally read. Other than being able to see through the lens of a dirtbag pretentious teenage boy, I dunno... The rest didn't quite do it for me, and I didn't find the mystery or tragedy that heartwrenching. After the events take place, it really feels like there was a lot of filler.

I meant to write this review months ago when I actually finished this book, but honestly, there are no words I can write to do it justice. I think about it daily. This was a really beautiful book. I don't think you have to be a queer, lesbian, adolescent to find reliability in Liza and Annie's story of teenage crushes developing into love.
