This one was...fine. I almost could have considered this pwp but there definitely was a plot, even though it didn't really do much for me.

Cute!! Nick is so caring towards Charlie. I remember being in high school and I had friends who also suffered similar mental illnesses and went without treatment so it was nice to see a positive representation of seeking treatment and recovery.

Another really cute book following Nick and Charlie's wholesome relationship. This one really gave Nick a little more depth, I really liked it and it was a quick little read.

Nick and Charlie’s relationship is so cute. Don’t mind me, I’m just gonna read all 4 volumes in one day and cry when there’s no more.

A super quick, wholesome read. Charlie and Nick give me butterflies that I haven't felt since my early high school days. When crushes, kisses, and the politics of popularity meant so much.

This was pretty good for a short omegaverse story. The dynamics were pretty straightforward and uncomplicated. The concept was definitely… there. Honestly, this wasn’t my favorite omegaverse story, I thought Emily was a little annoying but I also don’t read a lot of Male + Female omegaverse. Some of the dirty talking was a little cringey but I also appreciated that the author mostly used works like “dick” and “cock” over “member”, I think it really fit well with how quick and dirty this little story was.
It would be a shame not to mention that I found this book through booktok lmao. I don’t remember who recommended it, but this was a wild choice. I’m still reeling from the fact that omegaverse is an actual published category of romance and not just something found deep in the trenches of fan fiction websites.

This is a wonderfully written memoir. The perfect mix of funny, tragic, and just plain “wtf”. Jennette doesn’t owe us anything after being in the spotlight for so long and enduring so much abuse, but I’m so glad she wrote this book to give us even the smallest taste of her life. Great book. Picked it up and could not put it down.

I had to read this for a summer English course I’m taking and It was fun to analyze and pick apart! Difficult to get through, especially the dialogue, but the twist ending made up for it.

Okay, where to begin… this seems like kind of a wild choice for me, but when I found out that there was actual published omegaverse content, I got really curious. Are regular civilians reading this? Do regular people know about this? Does my mom occasionally sit in her reading chair and crack open her newest novel to read about slick holes, breeding omegas, and knotting? I honestly didn’t think this stuff saw the light of day outside of the deep, dark, dank online crevices that AO3, tumblr, or Wattpad was when I was a kid (yes, yes… I know, I grew up in the supernatural fandom, which means I have read some WILD fan fiction on the internet).
Anyways, the gist is, I’m familiar with A/B/O dynamics. I kind of knew what I was getting myself into and… I was pleasantly surprised.
Every omegaverse story is bound to have some differences from one another, I don’t think there’s a club out there setting a universal standard for their weird smut, but Leta Blake’s version made it all very practical and sensical to understand, which I appreciate (not to say I haven’t enjoyed a good omegaverse ‘fic devoid of plot and universe building, but that’s beside the point 😉)
The story was interesting, I actually enjoyed that it wasn’t just 400 pages of dirty fucking, the tension kept me engaged (obviously. I ended up reading this thing in one evening), and the smut was pretty damn sexy. I actually would have preferred it to be a little longer to accommodate more time for the events near the ending, but I’m satisfied by a happy ending after so much angst.

It feels like I can’t put these little romance books down to save my life recently. This was a short and pretty easy read for me. I think that there was really strong character development and plot over the course of the book that complimented the central romance well and kept the story well paced.
The sex scenes were decently spicy, but with the premise of our main characters coalescing over salacious, debaucherous erotica novels, I feel like there was a lot left to be desired. The two main characters had undeniable chemistry, and I think pushing the boundaries for them in their affair would have been insanely and interestingly hot.
There was also a lot more emotional turbulence than I anticipated, especially in the last half of the book, but I appreciate the attempt at a sort of unique twist to the story that brought a happy ending to all our characters while tying up any loose ends. Was it the best thought out plot in the history of plots? Maybe not, I feel like the happenstances and reveals were a little confusing and busy. But overall, this was a really cute little queer historical romance.
