Thank you Penn Cole for giving me an opportunity to read eARC.
Once again, Penn has succeeded in captivating me with her story. It left me feeling a mix of emotions and filled with unanswered questions. Glow picks up where Spark left off, as Diem embarks on a new journey in a world of power and control, embracing her true self.
Diem, a fierce and fearless protagonist who finds herself living among the very people she once vowed to destroy. Her world is turned upside down when she unexpectedly becomes the Queen of Lumnos. With her sharp wit and cleverness, she must navigate the treacherous waters of political intrigue and drama. Diem is torn between her loyalty to mortals and her connection to the Descended beings. Determined to prevent the impending bloodshed, she must make calculated moves to survive the challenges ahead and halt the brewing war between Mortals and Descended.
Luther, a brooding and grumpy male lead who does everything in his power to support Diem before the weight of their responsibilities becomes overwhelming. Despite harboring his own secrets and making promises, Luther stands by Diem's side, offering guidance and sharing his concerns. The relationship between Luther and Diem is filled with angst and longing, with a single touch leaving Diem breathless and secret smiles shared exclusively between them.
One of the aspects I enjoyed most about this story is the dynamic found family, characterized by their bubbly personalities and brutal honesty. The supporting characters, particularly Taran, are top-notch. Taran knows just when to crack a joke, even in the tensest moments. The banter between the characters is delightful.
The book encompassed a wide range of emotions and experiences, including happiness, sadness, betrayal, deception, courtroom drama, and personal growth. It emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and embracing one's true self. The ending truly left me what the hell! Is it too soon to ask for Book 3?

Small town with the delicious romance!
I absolutely adored and consumed this book in a single day, and wow, what an incredible narrative! Right from the prologue, I sensed that the story would be filled with intense emotions and heartache. The author skillfully portrayed the pain of losing loved ones, dealing with trauma, and yearning for a better life. The main characters, Torin and Maya, endured so much hardship throughout their lives. It was truly heartbreaking to witness their suffering and witness how they sacrificed everything to ensure the safety and protection of those they cared about.
Torin was haunted by the tragic loss of his wife and son in a devastating ocean storm five years ago. He carried immense guilt over their deaths which led him to isolate himself from others. He became an empty shell of a man who drowned in his own demons and past mistakes. However, when Maya unexpectedly stumbled upon his boat, Torin's numb emotions began to resurface as he developed obsessive feelings towards her while also feeling protective.
Maya had been fleeing from her abusive ex-fiancé along with her daughter when she found herself on Torin's boat. She longed for freedom from her painful past experiences as she desperately sought to build a new life for herself and her daughter Harper far away from her ex-lover's reach.
Maya experienced fear in opening her heart to others following the pain and heartbreak caused by her ex-partner, Trevor. She made an effort to avoid Torin, who initially appeared grumpy and broody. However, gradually, she found herself craving his presence as he became the person she needed most in her life.
The characters in the story are relatable and realistic, with their development being well-written. The slow progression of romance was handled skillfully, considering their past traumas. It beautifully blossomed between two individuals who were broken but finding solace in each other's company. The intimate moments were incredibly passionate and had a profound effect on me personally.
Torin's actions involving his mouth were particularly lasting *fans myself*. Despite initially coming across as an annoying jerk, he cared towards Maya and Harper. They complemented each other perfectly like a happy found family uniting together for support. The side characters added charm to the narrative by looking after Maya upon her arrival in their small town.
This book kept me engrossed from start to finish due to its fast-paced. I couldn't even take a momentary break without feeling compelled to continue reading.
I'm eagerly anticipating Everett's book, as I am intrigued by his mysterious nature and the inner turmoil he carries. His enigmatic presence draws me in, a desire to delve deeper into his story.

ROSAE is one of my most anticipated book and oh my freaking godsss, what a masterpiece!!
The story was completely unlike anything I have ever I've read. The world-building is incredibly unique and takes place in a dark and expansive setting within the modern world.
Tessalyn and Theon, the main characters, are complex individuals with their own personal demons to wrestle with. Their pasts have shaped them into who they are now, resulting in distinct behaviors and natures. Each of them deals with their trauma in their own way, employing coping mechanisms that they have developed over time.
The events in this book merely scratch the surface of everything that has occurred so far and what lies ahead! The plot captivated me from the very beginning; it was so engrossing that I ended up reading for two days. Even though I finished it last week, I am still emotionally invested in the story; words cannot adequately express how deeply moved I am by it. Despite the things Tessa and Theon had to do to each other throughout their journey, they have managed to capture my heart.
The slow burn romance between them gradually intensified over time; there was an undeniable tension between them due to being enemies with benefits which added an extra layer of deliciousness to their relationship dynamic. Melissa's portrayal of actions taken by her characters as well as incorporating humor, stubbornness, and mysterious magical elements were exceptionally well-written throughout the narrative. I knew Melissa would give her absolute best when crafting these characters' journeys, and she certainly delivered on that promise!
I'm incredibly excited to dive into book 2 as ROSAE raised questions and speculations and I'm trying to piece together the puzzle.
If you haven't read Lady of Darkness series yet, what on earth are you waiting for?

Heat was an another masterpiece of the author. The way Glow ended, I didn't know what to expect in Heat but this was the plot I never saw anything coming!! From the very first page to the final moments, it was filled with heart-wrenching and astonishing scenes. I'm at a loss for where to even begin, but let me assure you, this series is the ultimate dark fantasy romance to binge. Once you start reading, there's no way you can put it down. It engulfs you completely!
Now, the story itself was exquisitely detailed, painting a vivid picture of the world the author envisioned. Our heroine, Diem, knew no rest or peace due to the secrets and mysteries surrounding her identity, her father, and the powers she possessed. Diem held within her a kind of power that could either save or doom all realms. Her patience was put to the test as she found herself caught in a constant struggle between mortals and immortals.
In a race against time, Diem embarked on a journey through every realm, pleading with their rulers to join forces and halt the impending war. She did everything within her power to prevent the clash between mortals and those descended from darkness before they were consumed by the looming darkness on the horizon.
Luther. Luther. Luther. This man could ask me of anything and I would lay it at his feet. Where could I encounter another male like him? He embodies every quality one could desire in a fictional romantic partner. I was aware of his ability to captivate as a lover, but witnessing his love for Diem was both heartwarming and exhilarating. I need more of him again and he is truly irreplaceable!
The story consisted of three parts, with each subsequent ending being more distressing than the last. Upon completing part three, I was left in a state of shock and disbelief. I refuse to accept such an outrageous conclusion. It was unfucking believable and it left me emotionally drained.
However, I am grateful to Penn because "Burn of the Everflame" serves as the final installment in the series. This means that there will be no more hidden secrets or mysteries, although there will undoubtedly be moments of heartbreak before reaching the desired happily-ever-after.

The story starts after the events of The Coven, where Gray's motives and manipulations completely betrayed Willow. The main focus of the storyline revolves around their fractured romance, leaving Willow feeling hurt and unsure of who to trust.
She finds herself caught in a conflict between good and evil, resulting in several poor decisions that nearly cost her life. Fortunately, Gray is there by her side, offering his assistance and unwavering support. As the story unfolds, we witness Willow exploring her newfound abilities as a necromancer with the intention of rectifying past mistakes that occurred centuries ago.
Gray's POV on the spice was incredibly hot, and he knows how to melt his wife with his words. He is completely infatuated with Willow and fully committed to rekindling their love once more.
While I do feel that The Cursed could have been improved upon by avoiding a rushed ending and introducing new plotlines for secondary characters to enrich this duet series further, the intriguing conclusion has definitely piqued my interest in reading future installments.
