Kinda glad this took me forever to fully dive into because it gave me more time in this world. Each book just kept getting better and better and I was devastated/fulfilled by the incredible ending to this trilogy. Trying not to live in hyperbole world but I spent the last 300ish pages constantly wondering if this is my new favorite series of all time. Already excited for a re-read!

I went in with high expectations and for the first third I kept thinking, “this is good, but feels pretty par for the course” but as I continued forward that shifted to me not being able to put this down. There’s a good balance of light/fun story and thoughtfulness into grief and loss. I enjoyed the cast and would have gladly spent more time in this story!

This feels more like a 4.5 because the first third was a bit of a struggle but it kept getting better and better. I would have loved more of the middle/end.

The first 150 pages of this book might be the most heavy metal thing I’ve ever read. I’m exhausted in the best way possible after this one.

I thought this book did a great job demonstrating how real life trauma can be depicted through horror. I wish there had been a third act after what felt like two distinct halves of the book prior, but also understand why the author ended this where they did.
