booktok lied to me XD
not my cup of tea XD
within the first three pages, I had an Oh moment, closed the book, reopened it, and laughed because it was not what I expected.

not really a story to it. I need something with a story XD not just random smut about a beast that's like 18ft tall.

just my own personal opinion though. if its something you enjoy then read it. lol

This book...
It comes with a warning so be careful when you read it. if you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, or suffer from paranoia don't read the book, it can trigger you. It made me stop a few times but I f*cking love it to bits.

If you are into your horror and nasty things then this book is for you.

Fast and easy read, Really enjoyed the story.
In a strange way - very relatable, and even made me have a little giggle at certain parts.
The drama, action, and characters were amazing and the speed of the story is perfect - keeps you on your toes.

My only problem? It's a short read, 99 pages. I really wish it was longer just to see what else could have happened. :)

One of the books I have managed to do.
I've had the book set since early 2000, and this is one of the books that near the beginning i kept dying.

I wouldn't say this is for the younger ones, more so for a little bit older. It's harder compared to the ones before it, and at some times be a little bit frustrating.

But don't get me wrong. it's a fantastic gamebook and somewhat rewarding XD

I was really excited about this as I loved his other book (the troop). But I genuinely struggled with this and kinda found it boring.

There were some cool little bits, but they weren't enough to overshadow the parts that were more filler than anything.

The gets? Sounds cool right? The intro to it was really good and did give me the creeps. But after 30 pages, you don't hear about it again till a little bit of info is thrown in around 200+ pages in, then it's pushed so far to the back it's like the book itself has amnesia.

I may have held to much to this book, but I was slightly disappointed.

Though the characters are well written and do have depth, if there's not a story to hook me, there's no point.

So after getting an interview with the author (link below), I knew I had to re-open the book and start the series again.

The writing is good, the style of character customization is fantastic, and the idea of the open world and being able to take my time with the quests? perfect.

Though delving into the book I can see what Mike meant when he was fighting with his publishers about him wanting it to be more adult and dark and them wanting it to be a bit more childish, you can see that sometimes in the book, the back and forth between the two.

But knowing that he gets his way after this book? fantastic.

My nephew even loves the book which is mental as he doesn't like books at all.

The best thing about this is the unexpected ending.

My version of the book was full of spelling mistakes, grammar, and punctuation errors. Not only that, the writing in the book is huge with loads of space so a lot of paper was wasted just to make the book have 69 pages.

Some parts I guess you can say are "extreme horror" though I would say it's just random and has one thing that is disgusting.

so first things first, this is all my own opinion BUT, I feel like there are a lot of author opinions written in the book throughout.

For example, there's a moment in the book where they talk about rape and a character specifically states "Don't get all smug about trigger warnings. I know they're bullshit" A little bit further down they say "Every time you flick past the news its 'rape culture' on campus and celebrity sex assaults and some new moral fucking panic. Enough already". (that is just one example)

I then went and had a look through the Kindle edition and there are no trigger warnings at all.

Even though this is a short read, a lot happens in this that can be triggering for some.

The premise of the story is pretty good but it's so messed up and weird.
